1 Scope
This standard applies to pull cold-drawn wire for General purpose round, square and hexagonal cross-sections of copper-zinc alloys (brass).
The standard specifies the dimensions, technical requirements, acceptance rules, methods of control and testing, packaging, labeling, transportation and storage of the wire.

3 Terms and definitions
This standard applies the following terms with respective definitions:
3.1 wire: Prefabricated cross section of constant dimensions, rolled into the Bay or wound into a coil, manufactured by rolling, pressing or drawing.
3.2 ovality (deviation from circular shape): Difference between the largest and smallest values of the diameters measured at one cross section perpendicular to the axis of the wire.
3.3 Bay: Cut product wound into a series of continuous turns right separatornyi rows, without sharp bends.
3.4 dent: Local deepening of various sizes and shapes with sloping edges.
3.5 shell: the deepening on the surface of the product from the chipping of impurities.
3.6 a crack: a Defect of a surface, representing a rupture of the metal.
3.7 stratification: the discontinuity of metal, oriented along the direction of deformation.
3.8 risk: a Longitudinal indentations or protrusions on the surface of products of different length in the warp direction.

4 Assortment
4.1 the diameter of the wire of circular cross section and tolerances for diameter shall be as specified in table 1.

4.3 Ovality of wire of circular cross section shall not exceed the limit deviation for diameter.
4.4 the Roundness of wire of circular cross section with higher precision as out-of-roundness should not exceed half of the maximum deviations in diameter.

5 Technical requirements
5.1 Wire produced in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
5.2 Wire are made from brass brands L80, L68, L63 and LS59−1 with the chemical composition according to GOST 15527.
5.3 Wire produced in soft, semi-solid and solid States.
The condition of the material and wire, depending on its size, shape, cross section and grade alloy shall be as specified in table 3.

5.4 the Surface of wire should be clean, free from contamination, hindering its inspection.

5.5 Mechanical properties of wire of circular section shall be as specified in table 4.

5.7 Solid alloy wire brands L63 and L68 to withstand the test of inflection. Wire of alloy grade L68 shall withstand without fracture not less than six, and the alloy wire brand L63 — at least four kinks.
5.8 Fracture of the wire should be uniform, without foreign inclusions, delaminations, voids and other defects.
5.9 the Mass of the wire in the Bay or on the reel indicated in Annex V.
6 acceptance Rules
6.1 Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire of the same brand, same diameter, same shape of section, precision manufacturing, one state of the material shall be furnished in one document about quality that contains:
is the trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;
— the name of the country of manufacture;
— legal address of the manufacturer and/or seller;
— designation of wire;
— test results (as required);
— the batch number;
the weight of the party.
The weight of the batch shall be not more than 2000 kg.
6.2 To check the chemical composition of select two bays or two coils from the party.
Allowed to the manufacturer of the sampling carried out by the molten metal.
6.3 Control of dimensions and surface quality of the wire is subjected to each coil (coil or spool).
6.4 For the control of mechanical properties and fracture, and to test bend take the two bays or two rolls (coils or spools) of wire from the party.
Control of residual tensile surface stress is carried out when there is a disagreement between the manufacturer and the consumer on the two coils, coils (coils or spools) from the party.
6.5 If unsatisfactory test results of at least one indicator thereon, a second test of the doubled sample taken from the same batch. The results of repeated tests spread to the entire party.
7 Methods of inspection and testing
7.1 the Quality of the wire surface check inspection without the use of magnifying devices.
7.2 the Diameter of the wire measured on each selected Bay (reel) or coil micrometers 4381 according to GOST and GOST 6507 or other devices that provide the necessary measurement accuracy.
The measurement of the diameter of the wire is carried out in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same section in the beginning, the end and in the middle of the Bay (coils) or coils. In diameter taking the average value of one or more pairs of measurements taken at a right angle at one cross section.
If there is disagreement in the definition of diameter is measured by micrometer according to GOST 4381, GOST 6507.
7.3 To control the mechanical properties, fracture, testing the inflection of each selected bays (coils) or coils selected by the two samples.
Allowed for monitoring of the fracture to use the sample selected for mechanical testing.
7.4 Test wire tensile (tensile strength and elongation after fracture) is carried out according to GOST 10446 on samples with an estimated length of 100 mm. Sampling is carried out according to GOST 24047.
7.5 Control break check the wire diameter not less than 2 mm. To control the break wire is incised to a depth of not more than one quarter of its diameter and break off at the notches. Inspection of the fracture is carried out without the use of magnifying devices.
7.6 Test wire on the bend is carried out according to GOST 1579.
7.7 For the analysis of the chemical composition of each selected Bay, the coil or coils are cut on the same model. Sampling for chemical composition analysis is carried out according to GOST 24231.
The chemical composition of the wire is determined according to GOST 1652.1 — 1652.13 GOST, GOST 9716.1 -GOST 9716.3 or other methods of equal accuracy standard.
Allowed to the manufacturer of the sampling carried out by the molten metal.
If there is disagreement in assessing the quality of the chemical composition of the wire is determined according to GOST 1652.1 — 1652.13 GOST, GOST 9716.1 — GOST 9716.3.
7.8 Removal of residual tensile stresses on the wire is provided by the technology manufacturer.
The presence of residual tensile stresses control the breakdown of mercury or ammonia the method according to the methods specified in GOST 2060 according to the manufacturer’s choice.
In case of disagreement in assessing the quality of wire in the presence of residual tensile stresses control the breakdown of mercury.
7.9 measurement Results are rounded according to the rounding rules established in ST SEV 543.
8 Packing, marking, transportation and storage
8.1 Wire with a diameter of 0.30 mm or less is wound on the spool (spool), with a diameter of more than 0.30 mm are rolled into coils.
Customer’s request wire diameter from 0.30 mm to 0.50 mm, inclusive, wound on reels (spools).
8.2 the Wire shall be wound in coils or on reels right separatornyi rows, without sharp bends. The distance between the upper row of the wire and the edge of the cheeks of the coil should be at least 3 mm.
The wire ends should be firmly fixed with the free finding the external end and the free unwinding of the wire.
8.3 Each coil or reel shall consist of one piece of wire without splices and knots.
By agreement with the consumer allowed the winding on the spool a few segments of wire by mass of each segment is not less than the normal weight of a coil. The ends of each segment must be secured.
8.4 Each skein shall be tied with annealed wire with diameter not less than 0.5 mm according to GOST 3282 or synthetic tape according to the technical documentation in two places symmetrically, with the twisted ends of the wire at least three turns.
8.5 Skeins of wire for the same party are tied in the Bay. Each coil shall be securely tied with wires of diameter not less than 1.0 mm according to GOST 3282 or synthetic tape according to the technical documentation in three places symmetrically, with the twisting of the wire ends at least five turns.
Mass Bay should be no more than 80 kg.
8.6 For each ball if it is not connected to the Bay, should be labeled, and on each reel shall be pasted label stating:
— trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;
— the name of the country of manufacturer;
— the legend of the wire;
— batch number;
— stamp of technical control.
8.7 Hanks, bays or coils of wire of diameter 0.60 mm and less shall be Packed in wooden boxes of types I, II-1, II-2, III-1 and III-2 according to GOST 2991, lined churchyard 8828, GOST 8273. Dimensions of boxes — GOST 21140.
Bay coils or wire diameter of more than 0.60 mm should be wrapped in nonwoven or synthetic material according to the technical documentation and tied with wires of diameter not less than 1.0 mm according to GOST 3282 in two places symmetrically around the circumference of a coil or the Bay of the spiral. The outer diameter of the Bay must not exceed 1000 mm for wire diameter up to 6.0 mm and 1500 mm, for wire diameter over 6 mm.
Each spool shall be wrapped along the length of the cardboard according to GOST 9347 and tied with wires of diameter not less than 0.5 mm according to GOST 3282.
8.8 Consolidation packages in overpacks carried out in accordance with the requirements of GOST 26663. The means of fastening in transport packages — according to GOST 21650. Dimensions of packages — according to GOST 24597.
Packaging is carried out on pallets according to GOST 9557 or GOST 9078 or without pallets with the use of bars with a height of not less than 50 mm with strapping in the longitudinal and transverse directions with wire of diameter not less than 3.0 mm according to GOST 3282 or tape of size not less than 0,3х16 mm according to GOST 3560. Binding: wire — stranding at least five turns of tape to the castle.
Weight of cargo must not exceed 80 kg for mechanized loading and unloading is allowed the increased weight of the package.
8.9 Bays (coils) wire diameter 0.60 mm and less can be transported in universal containers according to GOST 20435 or GOST 22225 without packaging in boxes. Each coil (a coil) of wire must be wrapped with moisture-proof paper churchyard 8828 or GOST 9569.
Bays (coils) wire diameter than 0.60 mm are allowed to be transported in universal containers according to GOST 20435 or GOST 22225 without packaging in packaging materials.
During transportation in containers bays (coils) of wire must be laid and fastened in such a way as to prevent their movement in the container. In addition, the Bay must be protected from corrosion, contamination and mechanical damage.
8.10 it is possible to use other types of packaging materials not inferior in strength of the above, and other types and methods of packing, providing safety of quality of the wire.
8.11 In each box or container must be attached to the packing slip, containing:
is the trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;
— the name of the country of manufacture;
— designation of wire;
— the batch number;
— the net weight;
— gross mass;
— the number of the packer.
8.12 Transport marking under GOST 14192 with the application of manipulation sign «Protect from moisture».
8.13 the Packing of the wire to be sent to the far North regions and equated areas according to GOST 15846 in the group «Metals and metal products."
8.14 Wire transporterowych all types of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.
8.15 the Wire should be stored in covered premises. When storing and transporting the wire should be protected from mechanical damage, moisture and active chemical substances.
The consumer wire should be kept in stock in the manufacturer’s packaging for at least two days to equalize the temperature of the wire to the room temperature. After this period, the wire needs to be unpacked.
9 manufacturer’s Warranty
9.1 the Manufacturer guarantees compliance wire requirements of this standard if the consumer of rules of transportation and storage.
