Change No. 2 made by the manufacturer of the database in the text ICS N 10, 1990
This standard applies to refined osmium powder, intended for the manufacture of alloys, semi-finished products and other purposes.
1. MARKS AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1. Osmium powder must be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard. Depending on the chemical composition of refined osmium powder is manufactured in the following grades: OSA-0, OSA-1, OSA-2.
1.2. (Deleted, Rev. N 1).
1.3. Chemical composition of refined osmium should be the same as specified in the table.

Note. The column «Total» includes the sum of the impurities listed in the table, and additives of platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium, silver, copper, Nickel, silicon, aluminum, magnesium, barium and sodium percentage.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2).
1.4. Refined osmium is produced in powder form. The particle size of the powder should be less than 1.0 mm. allowed the presence of particles larger than 1.0 mm in an amount of not more than 2% by weight of the party.
1.5. Powder of refined osmium should not contain extraneous mechanical impurities.
2. ACCEPTANCE RULES
2.1. Refined osmium accept parties. The party must consist of a powder of the same brand. The weight of the batch should not exceed 40 kg.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2.2. To check the quality of powder with the requirements of this standard from each lot of powder is sampled.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2.3. If unsatisfactory test results on at least one of indicators on it, repeat tests are carried out on twice the amount of material from a sample according to claim 3.1. The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3. TEST METHODS
3.1. To determine the chemical composition and particle size of the powder of osmium sampled. For this batch of powder was stirred six times on the ring and cone and reduce kvantovanie with triple mixing at each stage until mass at least 10% by weight of the party.
Allowed sampling method of crossing streams of powder when unloading from the mixer after mechanical averaging
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3.2. The particle size determined by sieving the sample powder through a sieve with mesh N 1 according to GOST 6613−86.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3.3. For analysis of the chemical composition of the sieved sample was stirred and reduce kvantovanie to the mass of not less than 20 g. the resulting sample for analysis is milled to a particle size of not more than 0,315 mm.
Analysis of the chemical composition of refined osmium is produced according to GOST 12224.1−78.
A sample for determining the chemical composition to be stored for at least three months from the date of shipment.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3.4. Mechanical impurities is determined by the sample visually.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
4. PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
4.1. Refined osmium packaged in glass vials. Net weight of powder in vials should be no more than 500 g.
Glass ampoules are sealed.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).
4.2. (Deleted, Rev. N 1).
4.3. On each vial label where you indicate:
the name of the metal and its brand;
batch number;
the net weight in grams;
mass fraction of main component in percent;
year of issue;
the designation of this standard.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 1)
4.4. Glass vials of powder wrapped in cotton wool GOST 5556−81 or aligning according to GOST 12923−82, or foam and packaged in rigid containers according to normative-technical documentation. Allowed packaging glass ampoules with powder, wrapping them in special canisters.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).
4.5. Sealed in solid containers or canisters are Packed in wooden boxes, inside covered with cloth GOST 27542−87 or foam, or in containers.
Each box sealed with the seals of the shop of the manufacturer and the technical control Department of the manufacturer. The seals should be mounted through a hole through the bolt after the nut is wrapped and tucked away in a recess on the lid of the box.
(Changed edition, Rev. 1, 2).
4.6. On each box and label where you indicate:
room specifications;
the room and the location.
