This standard specifies terms and definitions of the main types of steel pipes.
The terms set out in this standard are mandatory for use in all types of documents and literature included in the scope of work on standardization or use the results of these works.
1. Standardized terms and their definitions are given in table.1.
2. For each concept has a single standardized term. The use of terms — synonyms of the normalized term is not allowed.
2.1. The definitions can, if necessary, modify, inserting derived characteristics, revealing the meaning of used terms, pointing to objects in the volume defined concepts. Changes must not violate the scope and content of concepts defined in this standard.
2.2. In the case where the term contains all the necessary and sufficient conditions of the concept, a definition is not given and in the column «Definition» put a dash.
2.3. In table.1 as a reference given the foreign-language equivalents of standardized terms in German (D) English (E) and French (F) languages.
3. Indexes contained in the standard terms in the Russian language and their foreign language equivalents are given in table.2−5.
