MADE: the Change in N 1, approved and put into effect by the Decree of the USSR State Committee for standards from
Change N 1, 2 made by the manufacturer of the database in the text IUS N 4, 1985, IUS N 2, 1990
This standard specifies methods for determining the resistance of oxygen-free copper against hydrogen embrittlement.
Determination of the resistance against the hydrogen embrittlement is the annealing of copper in hydrogen or hydrogen-containing gas atmosphere, followed by a test on excess or metallographic control.
The standard fully complies ST SEV 459−77, ISO 2626−73.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
1. SAMPLING
1.1. The number of core samples and place selection are specified in the relevant standards for steel products.
1.2. Of ribbons, sheets, strips of a thickness up to 2 mm, selected for tests, cut flat samples with width 10 mm and length not less than 100 mm in the direction of plastic deformation. Wire and rods with a diameter of 2 mm samples of selected length less than 100 mm.
Of pipes with wall thickness up to 2 mm samples cut in the form of strips of a width not exceeding 10 mm and a length not less than 100 mm along the pipe axis. When sampling from pipes with a diameter less than 15 mm sample width should not exceed the circumference of the pipe.
Materials thickness more than 2 mm samples produce plastic deformation or mechanical clipping. Prepared samples should have the following dimensions: thickness 2,0, width not more than 10.0 and a minimum length of 100.0 mm, or a diameter of 2.0 and a minimum length of 100.0 mm.
To change the cross-sectional sample more than 50% cold-applied plastic deformation (if necessary in combination with intermediate annealing in a neutral environment) or mechanical treatment.
Intermediate annealing is carried out at a temperature of 475 °C ±25 °C for 30 min.
Cooling should be carried out as quickly as possible in the environment of the annealing.
Samples for test shall not have transverse grooves on the surface and the burrs on the edges. Mechanical treatment is subjected to only one side of the sample. Allowed longitudinal marks from machining.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2).
1.3. Samples for metallographic control should be cut so that the plane of the thin section was perpendicular or parallel to the direction of plastic strain; one of the sides must not be machined. The direction of sampling relative to plastic deformation is established in the standards for specific products.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2. EQUIPMENT
Device for testing the bend — according to GOST 13813−68.
Replacement sponges and rollers-radius:
1.5 mm for samples with thickness of 0.70 mm or less;
2.0 mm for samples with thickness more than 0.70 to 0.90 mm incl.;
2.5 mm — sample thickness in excess of 0.90 to 1.10 mm incl.;
3.0 mm — sample thickness in excess of 1.10 to 1.50 mm incl.;
4.0 mm — sample thickness in excess of 1.50 to 1.90 mm incl.;
5.0 mm — sample thickness in excess of 1.90 to 2.00 mm incl.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).
3. TESTING
3.1. Defatted samples annealed in the environment of hydrogen or an inert gas with the addition of at least 10% of hydrogen at a temperature of (850±25) °C or (950±25) °C with exposure for 30 min and followed by rapid cooling in the same environment or in water.
The annealing temperature is set according to the requirement of the user.
3.2. The test bend is carried out according to GOST 13813−68.
The amount of preload is determined by the temporary resistance of 250 MPa (25 kgf/mm). The magnitude of the preload should not exceed 2% of the value of the temporary resistance of the sample.
3.1, 3.2. (Changed edition, Rev. N 1).
3.3. Samples must withstand at least 10 bends at 180° in the plates with a radius of curvature equal to 2,5 times the thickness or diameter of the specimen without breakage into two parts. Then continue the test on the bend before failure.
3.4. Metallographic examination carried out on polished or etched netravlenoy the samples at 200 x magnification.
The dimensions of the samples and the etching — according to GOST 21073.0−75.
3.3, 3.4. (Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2).
3.5. The sample to be tested according to claim 3.4, should not have pores, cracks along the grain boundaries.
