4 this standard is identical with ISO 6947:2011* «welding and allied processes. Position» welding (ISO 6947:2011 «Welding and allied processes — Welding positions», IDT).
An international standard developed by the Technical Committee on standardization ISO/TC 44 «welding and allied processes», Subcommittee SC 7
5 INTRODUCED FOR THE FIRST TIME
Rules for the application of this standard is established in article 26 of the Federal law from June 29, 2015 N 162-FZ «On standardization in Russian Federation». Information about the changes to this standard is published in the annual (as of January 1 of the current year) reference index «National standards» and the official text changes and amendments — in monthly information index «National standards». In case of revision (replacement) or cancellation of this standard a notification will be published in the upcoming issue of the monthly information index «National standards». Relevant information, notification and lyrics are also posted in the information system of General use — on the official website of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology on the Internet (www.gost.ru)
Introduction
This standard defines the following position when welding in the production: the bottom, horizontal, vertical and overhead.
The direction of welding is an essential parameter in the determination of the position during welding, for example, bottom-up or top-down.
Position when welding is not dependent on the type of compound, for example, butt or angle, or processing of the product. The standard applies to welds of all types.
The relationship between the clauses when welding in the tests and the provisions in welding production are specified in other standards, e.g. ISO 9606 [1] or ISO 15614 [2].
1 Scope
This standard defines the provisions in welding for testing and in the production of butt and fillet welds for all types of products.
Appendix A shows examples of the limit angles of inclination of the weld axis and the rotation of the front surface of the weld around the axis of the weld at positions in the welding of production welds.
In the application In the comparison of international, European and adopted in the United States designations.
2 Terms and definitions
This standard applies the following terms with respective definitions:
2.1 position during welding (welding position): the position of the weld in the space defined by the angles of inclination of the axis of rotation and the front surface of a weld relative to the horizontal plane.
2.2 the basic position when welding (welding of main position): Position in welding, denoted by PA, PB, PC, PD, PE, PF or PG.
Note — For RA, PB, PC, PD and PE as shown in figure 1.
2.3 the slope S (slope): the slope of the axis of the weld relative to the main position during welding.
2.4 rotation R (rotation): rotation Angle of the front surface of the weld relative to the main position during welding.
2.5 the angle of L (inclined angle): the Angle of the axis of the pipe.
3 Position during welding
3.1 the Main provisions in welding
The main provisions during welding is shown in figure 1, examples of applications butt and fillet welds shown in figure 2.
Figure 1 — Main provisions when welding
1 — lower; 4, 6 ceiling t-connections and ceiling in vertical position of the axes of the pipes; 2, 8 — horizontal t-horizontal joints and in vertical position the axes of the pipes; 5 — ceiling; 3, 7 — horizontal

a) RA is the position of the lower

b) RV is the position of the horizontal t-joints and horizontal in the vertical position of the axes of the pipes
and the arrow shows the position when welding
C) PC — position horizontal
and the arrow shows the position when welding
d) PD — position ceiling t-connections and ceiling in vertical position of the axes of the pipes

e) RE — position ceiling
and — arrow shows direction of welding
f) PF — position vertical upward
and — arrow shows direction of welding
g) PG — vertical down position
and — arrow shows direction of welding; b — for special purposes such as testing welders; this provision is seen as the main
h) PH the vertical upward position (pipe fixed)
and — arrow shows direction of welding; b — for special purposes such as for testing of welders; this provision is seen as the main
i) PJ — vertical down position (pipe fixed)
and — arrow shows direction of welding; b — for special purposes such as for testing of welders; this provision is seen as the main
j) PK is the position of the pipe with orbital welding

3.2 the Position in welding production
The main provisions when welding can be applied with other standards e.g. ISO 9606 [1], ISO 15614 [2] to determine the position of the welds during welding production after certification in one of the main provisions in welding PA, PB, H-L045, etc. the Limit values of angles of inclination and rotation for positions when welding in manufacturing are shown in table 1 — butt fusion, and in table 2 for fillet welds (see also the examples in Appendix A).
Note — In the case of asymmetrical tolerances «plus» means turning the surface of the weld in the direction of a guideline in welding of RA, and «minus» — towards a guideline in welding of the PE.
