1. This standard establishes the basic types, design elements and dimensions welded joints of critical structures of carbon and low-alloy steels manual arc welding in all positions when the thickness of the weld metal up to 60 mm, inclusive, with the location of the welded parts under acute and obtuse angles.
The standard establishes the types, design elements and dimensions welded joints of pipelines and welding seams carried out by welding with deep penetration.
The requirements of this standard are mandatory.

2. Main types of welded joints shall be as specified in table.1.

4. Both side welding is allowed to remove previously imposed the root of the weld to bare metal in any way.
5. May be increased to a limit deviation of the weld reinforcement weld () and width () to be performed in vertical, horizontal and overhead positions and in the installation of 1 mm to not more than 26 mm and 2 mm over 26 mm.
6. When the welding of the edge parts have different thickness, the difference of thickness (), you need to choose a smaller thickness (a) in accordance with the requirements of table.18.

In this case, the preparation of edges should be the same as for edges of the same thickness, the structural elements of prepared edges and dimensions of the welding seam it is necessary to choose a greater thickness ().
The difference between the thicknesses of the edges () welded at an angle 179°-160° in excess of the limits specified in table.18, the edge having a greater thickness are to be made a chamfer on one or two sides of length equal to 5 () with one-sided excess of the edges and 2.5 () with bilateral excess edges to thickness of thin edge (a) as indicated on the devil.1, 2.

7. Allowed the displacement of the welded edges relative to each other is not more than:
0.5 mm — for edges with thickness up to 4 mm;
1.0 mm — for edges with thickness 4−10 mm;
The 0.1but not exceeding 3 mm — for edges of a thickness exceeding 10 mm.
8. At a variable angle coupling parts, the seam is divided into sections. Each area of the coupling elements is performed in accordance with the requirements of this standard.
