Notes:
1. Indicate types of electrodes consist of index e (electrodes for arc welding) and next the numbers and letters. Two digits following the index to indicate the average carbon content in the deposited metal in hundredths of a percent. Chemical elements contained in the deposited metal, indicated by the following letters: A — nitrogen, B — niobium; tungsten; manganese; D — copper; M — molybdenum, N — Nickel; C — silicon, T is titanium; f — vanadium; X — chromium. The figures following the letter symbols of the chemical elements indicate the average content of the element in percent. After the letter designations of the elements, the average content in deposited metal is less than 1.50%, the numbers don’t bear. With the average content in the deposited metal of silicon up to 0.8% and manganese up to 1.6% of the letters C and G is not checked.
2. 5. Are given in table.1 and 2, the rate of the chemical composition of the deposited metal and content of the ferritic phase, and the mechanical properties of the weld metal and the weld metal should be checked by the test electrodes in accordance with the requirements of GOST 9466.
For electrodes with a diameter of less than 3 mm when tested mechanical properties of welded joint tensile strength of the weld joint gap should correspond to rupture strength of the weld metal and weld metal given in tab.1, and the bend angle is specified in the standard or technical conditions on the particular brand of electrode.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).
6. Tests of the deposited metal to intercrystalline corrosion should be carried out according to GOST 6032 or by a special method stipulated in the passport or the technical specifications for the electrodes of specific mark.
7. The symbol electrodes for arc welding of high-alloyed steels with special properties — according to GOST 9466.
In addition, the second line of the legend of the electrodes of the group of indexes indicating characteristics of the deposited metal and the weld metal shall consist of four digital index for the electrodes that provides austenite-ferritic structure of the weld metal, and three digital indexes for the remaining electrodes.
The first index characterizes the resistance of the deposited metal and of the weld metal to intergranular corrosion (0 — no data, 2 — seam metal is not prone to intergranular corrosion when tested by the methods AM and AMU, 3 — method B 4 — methods and WU, 5 — method D according to GOST 6032).
The second index indicates the maximum operating temperature at which the regulated indicators of long-term strength of weld metal and the weld metal (see table.4).
