1 Scope
This standard applies to strip and foil of iridium and rhodium, used in various sectors of the economy.

3 Terms and definitions
This standard applies the following terms with respective definitions:
3.1 strip: Flat rolled product of rectangular section of uniform thickness more than 0.10 mm.
3.2 foil: Flat rolled product of rectangular section of uniform thickness from 0.01 to 0.10 mm.
3.3 waviness: a Defect consisting of the uneven surface of the foil in the form of elevations and depressions of irregular shape.
3.4 captivity: defect of a surface, representing a delamination of the metal azkabanu forms, United with the base metal on one side.
3.5 bladder distension: Defect surface in the form of localized swelling of the metal, which is formed on the surface of the foil.
3.6 shell: Deepening on the product surface from foreign debris chipping or opening of the gas bubble.
3.7 stratification: the discontinuity of metal, oriented along the direction of deformation.
3.8 crack: a Defect of a surface, representing a rupture of the metal.
3.9 scratch: a Defect of a surface which is a recess of irregular shape and an arbitrary direction, resulting from mechanical damage, including during storage and transportation of metal.

5 Technical requirements
5.1 Main parameters and characteristics (properties)
5.1.1 Strip and foil shall conform to the requirements of this standard and be manufactured according to the technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
5.1.2 the Size of the bands and foil and limit deviations thereon shall be as specified in table 1.

5.1.3 the agreement with the consumer allowed to produce strip and foil measuring width within limits of random deviations in the width:
— for the bands is ±1.0 mm;
— for foil — ±1.5 mm.
5.1.4 At the customer’s request it is possible to produce strip and foil lengths or multiple exact within limits of random deviations genuine:
— for the bands is ±1.5 mm;
— for foil — ±2.0 mm.
In the party of the measuring strips and foils are allowed 10% by weight of random.
5.1.5 Strip and foil made of iridium according to GOST 13099 and rhodium according to GOST 13098.
5.1.6 Strip is made in hard (unannealed) or soft (annealed) condition, the foil in the soft (annealed) state.
5.1.7 the surface of the strip and the foil must be free of cracks, prisoner, delaminations, and foreign inclusions, except, the lines should be without shells, foil — bubble-blisters.
On the surface of the strips and foils are allowed a separate surface damage (scratches, dents, signs of Stripping, etc.) if they do not display the reference sweep for tolerances for thickness, as well as local darkening of the color of a tint and waviness, in addition, on the foil — the blurred traces of the kinks.
The foil thickness is less than 0.050 mm are permitted single holes (dircetory), as well as clusters of single holes in the absence of their line locations.
5.1.8 Strip and foil shall be trimmed evenly with the edge.
Allowed manufacturing strip without trimming.
5.2 Labeling and packaging
5.2.1 At the corner of each strip should be marked, comprising:
— name or trademark of the manufacturer;
— brand of metal;
— the batch number (sample).
Marking foil and strips of a thickness less than 0.3 mm and width less than 50 mm is not possible.
5.2.2 Foil shift the tissue paper according to GOST 3479 and combined into packages. Packages foil, interleaved with cardboard and packages of strips wrapped in paper according to GOST 8273и Packed in solid wooden boxes. The packaging must ensure the safety strips and foil for transportation.
The free space in the box filled with soft packing material, protecting strip and foil during transport from mechanical damage.

5.2.3 the Boxes are sealed, or seal the wax seals of the manufacturer. The seal (stamp) needs to have a clear impression.

5.2.4 gross weight of the box should be no more than 10 kg.
5.2.5 Labelling the boxes are produced according to GOST 14192 with the indicating manipulation of the sign: «Fragile. Caution."
5.2.6 Each batch of strips (foil) accompanied by certificates of quality, which indicate:
— trademark or a trademark and the name of the manufacturer;
— the symbol strips (foil);
— the batch number (sample);
— chemical composition;
— a lot of streaks (foil) to party g;
— the month and year of manufacture;
— stamp and signature of the technical control.
The certificate of quality is Packed in the last place, which is marked: «Driving here."
6 acceptance Rules
6.1 Strip and foil take parties. The party should consist of strips (foil) of one brand of metal, one thickness (size) and be accompanied by a certificate of quality. The weight of the batch is not limited.
6.2 Control sizes are subjected to each lane in the party.
To control the size of the foil randomly select 25% of the leaves from the party foil, but not less than 15 sheets.
If unsatisfactory results of control sizes on at least one sheet of foil, repeat tests are carried out at twice the number of sheets of foil selected from the same batch. The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.
6.3 surface quality Control and labelling should be subjected to each strip (foil sheet) in the party.
6.4 To determine the chemical composition, the consumer selects one strip (foil sheet) from the party, manufacturer — a sample from each heat.
If unsatisfactory results on the chemical composition of it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample taken from the strips (foil) of the same party. The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.
6.5 delivery Condition are provided in 4.1.6 manufacturing technology.
6.6 quality Control packing strips (foil) and labelling of the shipping container are subjected to every place.
7 control Methods
7.1 the thickness of the strips is measured with a micrometer according to GOST 6507, the thickness of the strips and foil measuring spring head with a scale division of 1 µm according to GOST 28798 with the rack according to GOST 10197.
The measurement is required for both ends and the middle part of the strip (foil sheet).
The width and length of the strips (sheets of foil) measured with a metal ruler according to GOST 427.
Allowed the use of other measuring instruments providing the required accuracy.
7.2 surface Quality of strips and foil checked by visual inspection without the use of magnifying devices.
7.3 Chemical composition of the material strips and the foil is determined according to GOST 12223.0, 12227.0 GOST, GOST R 52599 or methods of the manufacturer, designed in the prescribed manner.
7.4 the weight of the batch is determined on scales that provide accurate weighing in accordance with the accounting rules of precious metals [1].
7.5 Marking strips, packaging and labeling of shipping containers check external examination.
8 Transportation and storage
8.1 During transportation and storage, strip and foil must be protected from mechanical impacts, moisture and aggressive media.
Conditions of transportation in terms of the impact of climatic factors — 5 storage conditions according to GOST 15150, the conditions of storage — 1 (L) storage conditions according to GOST 15150.
8.2 Transport, storage, strips and foils is carried out in accordance with the rules [1].
9 manufacturer’s Warranty
9.1 the Manufacturer guarantees the conformity of strips and foils of iridium and rhodium with the requirements of this standard, under the conditions of transportation and storage prescribed by this standard.
Warranty period — 15 years from date of manufacture. The date of manufacture as the date of the issuance of the certificate of quality.
