2. Customer’s request wire of alloy grade PLM-8,5 manufactured with special treatment (stabilization).
3. Theoretical weight of 1 m of wire is given in Annex 1.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 3).
1.2. The roundness of the wire must not exceed half of the maximum deviations in diameter.
Examples of symbols
Platinum wire marks PL 99,9, soft, with a diameter of 0.40 mm, high manufacturing precision (P):
Wire Of 99.9 PL-M-0,40-P GOST 18389−73
The same, of platinum-iridium alloy, grade PLI-10, solid, with a diameter of 1.2 mm, high manufacturing precision (P):
Wire PLI-10-T-1,20-P GOST 18389−73
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Wire produced in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
A wire made of platinum and its alloys with the chemical composition according to GOST or GOST 13498 30649.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 6).
2.2. Wire produced:
diameter of less than 0.10 mm — solid (hard);
with a diameter of 0.10 mm or more — soft (annealed) and hard (work-hardened).
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2.2. Wire diameter of 0.3 mm or less is wound on a tared metal or plastic coil, wire with a diameter of more than 0.3−0.5 mm for the coil or coils, the wire diameter more than 0.5 mm — in coils only.
Allowed manufacturing wire alloy grades PLI-15, PLI-20, PLI-17,5, PLI-25, PLI-30, Plrd-20, Plrd-30, Plrd-40, the PLN-4,5, and at the request of the consumer of other alloys with a diameter of 4 mm or more in segments with a length from 200 to 1000 mm.
(Added, Rev. N 2).
2.2 b. The wire should be wound on a reel or folded in Hanks that provides free winding rows, with no sharp kinks. The distance between the upper row of the wire and the edge of the cheeks of the coil should be at least 3 mm.
Each coil or each coil shall consist of one piece of wire without splices and knots. The ends of the wire on the coils should be firmly fixed. Each coil of wire with a diameter of 2 mm needs to be fixed ends of the wire in the same bundle.
Allowed to bind the coils of wire in the Bay.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 4).
2.3. The surface of wire should be clean, smooth, should not be captured, cracks, cavities and delaminations.
On the surface of the wire allowed the color of the tint and local darkening and surface damage, not bringing the wire at reference sweep for tolerances for diameter.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2.4. The physical properties of the wire are given in appendices 2 and 3.
Properties of jewellery alloys is given in GOST 30649.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 6).
2.5. Weight of wire on a reel (coil) shall conform to the requirements specified in table.2.

Notes:
1. The number of coils (coils) of wire for reduced mass should not exceed 15% of the batch weight.
2. At the request of the consumer permitted wire bundles (coils) of wire for reduced mass.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 5).
3. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3.1. Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire of one brand of metal, alloy, of the same diameter, one state and one precision manufacturing and are decorated in one document about quality that contains:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
the diameter of the wire;
batch number;
the brand of metal;
the condition of the material;
the number of coils (coils);
chemical composition;
the mass of wire in grams;
the date of issue.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 5).
3.2. To check the appearance, diameter and mass is performed on each reel (spool) wire.
3.3. To determine the chemical composition of selected single coil (the coil) from the party.
Allowed the manufacturer to identify the chemical composition of platinum and its alloys for each cast.
3.4. If unsatisfactory results on the chemical composition, it produced a re-test at twice the number of skeins (coils) of the same party.
The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.
3.2−3.4. (Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
4. TEST METHODS
4.1. The wire diameter and ovality measured in two locations at a minimum distance of 100 mm from each other in two mutually perpendicular directions in each measured cross-section optistore according to GOST 28798 and micrometer type MK 25−1 according to GOST 6507 or other instruments providing the required accuracy.
If there is disagreement in the evaluation of the measurements carried out by optistore churchyard 28798 and micrometer type MK 25−1 according to GOST 6507.
Ground wire check on laboratory scales General purpose accuracy class 3 according to GOST 24104*.
________________
* From 1 July 2002 was put into effect GOST 24104−2001.

Notes:
1. Electrical resistivity and TCAS (average value) is determined on the wire in soft (annealed) state.
2. Rupture strength and electrical resistivity are determined by wire diameter from 0.2 to 0.5 mm.
