1 Scope

This standard applies to silver anodes made in the form of stripes by the processing of ingots (plates) silver by pressure and is intended for plating articles with silver.

3 Terms and definitions

This standard applies the following terms with respective definitions:

3.1 dent: Local deepening of various sizes and shapes with sloping edges.

3.2 Burr: the Defect surface, which is a sharp in the form of a crest of the protrusion formed by cutting metal.

3.3 strain: Defect surface in the form of local closed the gap located transversely or at an angle to the direction of rolling.

3.4 captivity: the Defect of the surface in the form of delamination most often azkabanu shape, elongated in the warp direction and United with the base metal on one side.

3.5 stratification: a Defect in the form of a separating layer (s) of the metal at the ends and/or edges of the anode.

3.6 traces of Stripping: the surface defects in the form of areas with high surface roughness formed after the Stripping of the anode abrasive tool.

3.7 traces of podstanovki: the Defect of the surface in the form of grooves alternately in two mutually perpendicular directions, formed after the Stripping of the anode scraper.

3.8 crack: a Defect of a surface which is a closed rupture of the metal.

3.9 scratch: the surface defects in the form of indentations of irregular shape and an arbitrary direction.

3.10 color tint: Defect formed on the smooth surface of the anode by forming a thin transparent surface oxide layer and light interference in it.
