1 Scope
This standard applies to cold rolled strip of platinum, palladium and alloys on their basis, used in instrument making and other industries.

Note — When using this standard appropriate to test the effect of reference standards for the sign «National standards» drawn up as of January 1 of the current year and related information signs, published in the current year. 3 Terms and definitions
This standard applies the following terms with respective definitions:
3.1 strip: Flat rolled product of rectangular cross section, uniform thickness of 0.10 mm or more.
3.2 dent: the Defect of the surface in the form of randomly-spaced local depressions of various sizes and shapes with sloping edges.
3.3 Burr: the Defect surface, which is a sharp in the form of a crest of the protrusion formed by cutting metal.
3.4 captivity: the Defect of the surface in the form of delamination, often azkabanu shape, elongated in the warp direction and United with the base metal on one side.
3.5 shell: the surface defects in the form of a single elongated recess or a point shape from chipping of foreign objects or opening of the gas bubble.
3.6 stratification: the surface defects in the form cracks on the edges and the ends of the sheet.
3.7 flaw on edges: the surface defects in the form of rupture of the metal at the edges of the strip.
3.8 traces of Stripping: the surface defects in the form of areas with high surface roughness formed after the Stripping of the sheet of abrasive tool.
3.9 crack: a Defect in the form of local rupture of metal of various sizes, having any direction.
3.10 scratch: the surface defects in the form of indentations of irregular shape and an arbitrary direction.
3.11 color tint: Defect formed on the smooth surface of the bands by forming a thin transparent surface oxide layer and light interference in it.

5 Technical requirements
5.1 Main parameters and characteristics (properties)
5.1.1 Strip of platinum, palladium and alloys on their basis (hereinafter — band) must conform to the requirements of this standard and be manufactured according to the technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
5.1.2 thickness of the strips and limit deviations for thickness shall conform to the values specified in table 1.

5.1.3 the Width limit deviations on width depending on the thickness and length of the strips should correspond to the values indicated in table 2.

It is possible to produce bands of length within random, with maximum deviation of ±2.0 mm. In the party of the measuring strips is allowed random not more than 10% of the batch weight.
5.1.4 Calculation mass of a 1 cmstrips of platinum, palladium and alloys based on them are given in Appendix A.
5.1.5 Chemical composition of the bands for technical purposes must comply with GOST 13462, GOST 13498, for jewelry production — GOST 30649.
Note — By agreement with consumer it is allowed manufacture of strips of the other alloys based on palladium and platinum.
5.1.6 Strip manufactured in soft (annealed) and hard (unannealed) condition.
The state of the metal should be specified in the order. If the order specifies the delivery status, the strip is manufactured in hard (unannealed) condition.
5.1.7 the surface of the strips should not be captured, cracks, delamination.
Allowed color of a tint, local darkening lanes, and surface damage (dents, scratches, sinks, signs of Stripping), not deducing strips for maximum deviations in thickness, and undulations, disappearing at a bend.
5.1.8 Strips should be trimmed evenly and should not have flaws on the edges. Burrs shall not display bands for the limit deviation on thickness. Cut end Squareness, mm should take the stripes over the limit deviations on width.
5.1.9 Physical-mechanical properties of strips are given in Appendix B.
Properties of jewellery alloys based on platinum and palladium given in GOST 30649.
5.2 Labeling, packaging
5.2.1 At the corner of each strip is marked, containing:
is the trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;
mark metal, alloy;
— the batch number.
Marking strips of a thickness less than 0.3 mm and width less than 50 mm is not possible.
Note — By agreement with consumer it is permitted the marking of strips is applied.
5.2.2 stack of strips, wrapped in paper according to GOST 8273, must be Packed in solid wooden (plastic) boxes or padded plywood strips and Packed in cloth bags.
The free space in the box filled with soft packing material to protect the strips from mechanical damage.
Can be applied to other types of packaging and materials to ensure the safety lanes during transportation and storage.
Transport marking under GOST 14192 with the indication of manipulation sign «Fragile. Caution."
5.2.3 Boxes (bags) sealed or sealed. The seal (stamp) needs to have a clear impression.
5.2.4 gross Mass of the packing space should not exceed 20 kg.
5.2.5 Each party bands accompany a document about quality that contains:
is the trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;
— the symbol of the band;
— the batch number;
— a lot of bands in the party, g;
— the number of bands in the party;
— chemical composition;
— the month and year of manufacture;
— stamp of quality control.
The document about quality invest in a package with accompanying documentation.
6 acceptance Rules
6.1 Strip take parties. The party should consist of strips of the same brand of metal or alloy, the same size and precision manufacturing, one state of delivery. The weight of the batch is not limited.
6.2 dimensional control and surface quality is carried out on each band.
6.3 To check the chemical composition, the consumer selects one strip from the party, manufacturer — a sample from each heat.
6.4 Upon receipt of unsatisfactory results according to the chemical composition it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample or the sample taken from the same batch. The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.
6.5 the marking is subjected to each lane, checking the packaging and the gross mass of each packaging place.
7 control Methods
7.1 the thickness of the strips is measured at a distance of not less than 25 mm from the vertex of the angle and not less than 15 mm from the edge of the micrometer according to GOST 6507. The width and length of strips measure metal ruler according to GOST 427 or caliper according to GOST 166.
Allowed the use of other measuring instruments providing the required accuracy.
7.2 Verification of the surface quality of the bands is carried out by visual inspection without the use of magnifying devices.
7.3 the weight of the strips is determined on laboratory weights according to GOST 24104, the gross weight of the boxes — on weights according to GOST 29329.
7.4 Chemical composition determines:
platinum — according to GOST 12226;
palladium — GOST 12225;
alloys based on platinum according to GOST 12551.1, 12551.2 GOST, GOST 12552.1, 12552.2 GOST, GOST 12553.1, 12553.2 GOST, GOST 12554.1, 12554.2 GOST, GOST 12556.1, 12556.2 GOST, GOST 12559.1, 12559.2 GOST, GOST 22864;
alloys based on palladium according to GOST 12550.1, 12550.2 GOST, GOST 12558.1, 12558.2 GOST, GOST 12560.1, 12560.2 GOST, GOST 12561.1, 12561.2 GOST, GOST 22864.
Allowed determination of the chemical composition to perform other techniques, certified in the prescribed manner and satisfies the requirements of this standard.
7.5 Marking and packaging checks visual inspection.
8 Transportation and storage
8.1 Transport, storage and accounting of strips is carried out in accordance with the order of storage, transportation and accounting of precious metals.
8.2 transport and storage of strips should be protected from dirt, mechanical damage, moisture, corrosive environments, fume sulfur compounds.
Storage conditions in climatic factors 1.1 in accordance with GOST 15150, conditions for transportation — 3 according to GOST 15150.
9 manufacturer’s Warranty
The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of the chemical composition and size of the bands of platinum, palladium and alloys on their basis the requirements of this standard, under the conditions of transportation and storage prescribed by this standard.
Warranty period of storage of the strips 15 years from the date of manufacture.
