This standard applies to the drawn and hot-rolled bars of circular cross-section Nickel alloy Monel.
Requirements PP. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.1, 1.4, 1.5 and sec. 2, 3, 4 of this standard are mandatory. Other requirements of this standard are recommended.
1. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1. Bars manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
1.2. Basic parameters and dimensions
1.2.1. Drawn bar sizes and maximum deviations thereon shall be as specified in table.1.

1.3. Features
1.3.1. 'harecteristic of compulsory execution
1.3.1.1. The bars are made of Monel brand Nmzhmts 28−2,5−1,5 with the chemical composition according to GOST 492.
1.3.1.2. As material drawn bars are manufactured mild (M) and hard (T).
Hot rods are made netravlenoy.
1.3.1.3. Surface bars should be clean without any cracks and delamination. On the surface of bars allowed minor slivers, risks, scratches, nicks, sink, traces of pulling and straightening a depth limit deviation for diameter.
Allowed darkening of surfaces on drawn bars and color tint.
1.3.1.4. At the bend in the bars should not be extraneous inclusions, delaminations, voids.
The number and size of wooloowin permitted inside bars, established by agreement between manufacturer and consumer.
The bars intended for welding, are allowed volosovichi.
1.3.1.5. Bars should be trimmed evenly with the ends. Bars of 25 mm diameter and less are allowed to make from the cut ends.
1.3.1.6. Oval bars should not display their size beyond the permissible deviations in diameter.
1.3.1.7. Bars are made to normal precision in diameter. The diameters of the drawn bar normal accuracy of production and hot-rolled bars and limit deviations thereon shall be as specified in table. 1 and 2.
1.3.1.8. The bars are made of random length:
length from 2 to 4 m in diameter from 5 to 40 mm incl.;
length from 1 to 3 m with diameter over 40 up to 60 mm incl.;
length from 0.7 to 2.5 m, diameter over 60 mm.
The party bars of random length bars allowed less than 1 m in length, but not less than 0.5 m, not more than 10% of the mass of the party.
1.3.1.9. The curvature of the rods 1 m length should not exceed the values given in table. 3.

The overall curvature of the rod should not exceed the local curvature on a l m on the length of the rod in meters.
1.3.1.10. Mechanical properties of bars shall conform to the standards specified in table. 4.

1.3.2. Characteristics of performance, established requirementsfor consumer
1.3.2.1. Drawn bars are manufactured with advanced and high precision on diameter.
The diameters of the drawn bar higher and higher precision and limit deviations thereon shall be as specified in table. 1.
1.3.2.2. Rolled bars are produced with bilateral deviations by diameter, not exceeding the amount of deviation, specified in table. 2.
1.3.2.3. The bars are made of standard length or a multiple of gauging length within the limits specified in clause

1.3.3. Characteristics of performanceestablished by agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer
1.3.3.1. The bars are made of intermediate diameters with maximum deviations for the next larger size listed in the table. 1, 2.
1.3.3.2. Rods produce other sizes according to the diameter, the maximum deviation, the requirements for surface quality, curvature, Cochin Reza established by agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer.
1.4. Marking
1.4.1. To each bundle of bars shall be attached to the metal or plywood label according to GOST 14192с stating:
the trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;
the legend of rods;
batch number;
designation of this standard;
stamp of technical control.
1.4.2. At the end of each rod, supplied without packaging and are not in conjunction, should be embossed:
grade;
batch number;
stamp of technical control.
Grade can enter the abbreviated Nmims.
1.5. Packaging
1.5.1. Bars with diameter up to 35 mm inclusive tied into bundles weighing not more than 80 kg.
Each bundle should consist of at least three bars and should be tied with wire in two turns with a diameter of 1.2 mm according to GOST 3282 in at least two places, and the bar length more than 3 m not less than three locations evenly along the length of the rod, excluding the reciprocal movement of bars in bundles.
The ends of the wire connected by twisting at least five turns.
Bars with the diameter more than 35 mm in the beams don’t connect.
1.5.2. Drawn rods with diameter up to 10 mm inclusive high and high accuracy is packaged in 1 — 2 layers of synthetic or non-woven materials according to normative-technical documentation, ensure quality safety rods, and tie on top of the packing material wire of any diameter churchyard 3282 in at least two places.
The quality of packaging and packaging materials permitted for use in other types of packaging and packaging materials according to normative-technical documentation, strength is not inferior to the specified in the standard and ensuring the safety of product quality.
1.5.3. The package should be generated in the transport packages on pallets according to GOST 9557. Overall dimensions of the packages according to GOST 24597, GOST 23238 and normative-technical documentation. Weight of package must not exceed 1250 kg. a means of binding the transport packages according to GOST 21650.
The formation of packages can be with the use of bars not less than 50 mm with tying wire with diameter at least 2 mm in two turns according to GOST 3282 or tape not less than 0,330 mm 3560 churchyard or using a sling also packageable wire according to GOST 3282 diameter not less than 5 mm with the twist of not less than three turns. The ends of the wire connected by twisting at least five turns of tape to the castle.
1.5.4. Packing goods to be sent to the far North and remote areas shall meet the requirements of GOST 15846.
2. ACCEPTANCE
2.1. The rods take lots. The party must consist of bars of one method of manufacture, one precision manufacturing, one state of the material, the same size and decorated the same document about quality that contains:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
the symbol of the rod;
the results of the tests (at the request of the consumer);
batch number;
the weight of the batch.
The weight of the batch shall not be more than 1000 kg.
2.2. To control the size and surface quality of bars used single-stage normal sampling plan for the alternative characteristic in accordance with GOST 18242, with the acceptance level of defects of 4.0%. The sampling plan given in table. 6. The selection of bars in the sample is carried out «blindly» (by the greatest objectivity) according to GOST 18321.

At the customer’s request quality control of the surface subjected to each rod.
Allowed the manufacturer to carry out continuous control of surface quality and dimensions of bars.
2.3. Allowed the manufacturer to control the surface quality and the dimensions of the bars in the production process.
2.4. To check the curvature of bars selected 10% of the rods or beams of the party.
2.5. To check for a fracture take two rods, or two bunches from the party.
2.6. To check bars in the absence of wooloowin taken away from the party for three rods or three bundles, and each bundle is one bar. The tests are carried out at the request of the consumer.
2.7. To check the mechanical properties are selected from the party for two rods or two beams, and each beam — one rod for each type of test.
2.8. To check chemical composition selected from the party for two rods or two beams, and each beam — one rod according to GOST 24231.
The manufacturer is permitted to carry out checks on samples taken from molten metal.
2.9. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators for PP.2.4 — 2.7 it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample taken from the same batch.
The results of repeated tests spread to the entire party.
2.10. Allowed by agreement between manufacturer and consumer to use statistical methods of control of mechanical properties and curvature.
3. CONTROL METHODS
3.1. Visual inspection of the bars is carried out without the use of magnifying devices.
3.2. Measurement of diameter and ovality of rods is carried out in at least two mutually perpendicular directions with a micrometer according to GOST 6507, hot-rolled bars — caliper according to GOST 166.
The bar length is measured with a metal ruler according to GOST 427 or measuring tape according to GOST 7502.
3.3. The curvature of the test bars according to GOST 26877 using the calibration line according to GOST 8026 and probes on the other 2−034−225.
3.4. Check fracture put both ends of the rod.
To check rod fracture bars incised, after which they break. The incision should be made so that the fracture passed through the Central part of the rod and had a width of:
at least 60% of the diameter for bars with diameter up to 16 mm;
not less than 10 mm, for bars with diameter over 16 mm.
The broken end of the rod for the dispatch cut. Inspection of the fracture is carried out without the use of magnifying devices.
3.5. To check bars in the absence of wooloowin from each of the taken at clause 2.6 of bars take one sample.
The presence of wooloowin inside bars is determined by the method given in the Appendix.
3.6. The tensile test bars is carried out according to GOST 1497.
The selection and preparation of samples for tensile tests carried out according to GOST 24047.
3.7. Chemical composition is determined by GOST 6689.1 — 6689.3 GOST, GOST 6689.5 — 6689.7 GOST, GOST 6689.10 — GOST 6689.19 or other methods of equal accuracy specified in the standard.
If there is disagreement in assessing the quality of the chemical composition of bars is determined according to GOST 6689.1 — 6689.3 GOST, GOST 6689.5 — 6689.7 GOST, GOST 6689.10 — GOST 6689.19.
3.8. Allowed manufacturer to use other testing methods, providing the required accuracy set out in this standard. If there is disagreement in the definition of the indicator monitoring is carried out by the method specified in the standard.
4. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
4.1. Transportation of bars is carried out by all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.
Vehicles for rods with a length of over 3 m is determined in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.
Training for carriage of goods by sea is carried out in accordance with GOST 26653.
4.2. Transport marking of packages — according to GOST 14192 with the application of manipulation sign «Afraid of dampness» and additional label batch number in the free from traffic markings.
4.3. Bars should be stored in closed rooms in conditions excluding mechanical damage, moisture and active chemical substances.
Under specified storage conditions consumer properties of bars do not change.

METHOD OF DETERMINATION OF WOOLOOWIN ON THE BARS OF MONEL
The methodology is designed to identify and determine the number of wooloowin inside bars intended for welding. The method is based on etching of a freshly rods with concentrated nitric acid.
1. REAGENTS AND CONTROLLED SAMPLES
1.1. Concentrated nitric acid according to GOST 701.
1.2. Controlled samples to produce a stepped turning. The length of the sample, which determine the presence of wooloowin (150 ± 2) mm. specimen geometry specified in the drawing.
2. PREPARATION FOR CONTROL
2.1. The turning of the position in the samples produced sharp cutter when cutting depth is not more than 0.5 mm and feed of 0.25 mm.
2.2. The diameters of the steps set depending on the diameter of bars and they should correspond to those in table. 7.

3. CONTROL
3.1. Freshly etched samples in concentrated nitric acid for 1 — 2 min.
4. EVALUATION OF THE RESULTS
4.1. The presence and number of wooloowin determine the result of the examination of the samples after etching without the use of magnifying devices.
