3 APPROVED AND put INTO EFFECT by the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology dated 20 October 2015 N 1598-St
4 this standard is modified in relation to the standard of ASTM Д3552−12* «Standard methods of testing. A method of determining the tensile strength of composite materials with metal matrix reinforced with fibers» (ASTM D3552−12 «Standard test method for tensile properties of fiber reinforced metal matrix composites») by changing the content of individual structural elements, which are indicated by a vertical line situated in the fields next to the appropriate text, as well as the exclusion of individual structural elements, links and/or additional elements.

Original text deleted structural elements of the ASTM standard is given in Appendix YES.
Original text modified structural elements of the ASTM standard is given in Appendix SB. The individual structural elements were changed in order to comply with the norms of the Russian language and technical style of presentation, and in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 1.5.

5 INTRODUCED FOR THE FIRST TIME
Application rules of this standard are established in GOST R 1.0−2012 (section 8). Information about the changes to this standard is published in the annual (as of January 1 of the current year) reference index «National standards» and the official text changes and amendments — in monthly information index «National standards». In case of revision (replacement) or cancellation of this standard a notification will be published in the upcoming issue of the monthly information index «National standards». Relevant information, notification and lyrics are also posted in the information system of General use — on the official website of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology on the Internet (www.gost.ru)
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method of determining the characteristics of the tensile strength of composite materials with metal matrix reinforced with continuous and discontinuous high-modulus fiber, as well as non-traditional composite materials with metal matrix. |
2 Normative references
This standard uses the regulatory references to the following standards:
GOST 6507−90 Micrometers. Specifications
GOST 15150−69 Machines, instruments and other technical products. Versions for different climatic areas. Categories, conditions of use, storage and transportation of the impact of climatic factors of the external environment
GOST 28840−90 Machine for testing materials in tension, compression and bending. General technical requirements
GOST R 8.585−2001 State system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements. Thermocouple. Nominal static characteristics of conversion
GOST R 56683−2015 polymer Composites. The symbol of the reinforcement directions
Note — When using this standard appropriate to test the effect of reference standards in the information system of General use — on the official website of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology on the Internet or in the annual information index «National standards» published as on January 1 of the current year, and the editions of the monthly information index «National standards» for the current year. If replaced with a reference standard, which was given an undated reference, then it is recommended to use the current version of this standard, taking into account all enabled in this version modifications. If replaced with a reference standard, which is given a dated reference, it is recommended to use the version of this standard referred to above by year of approval (acceptance). If after approval of this standard in the reference standard, which is given a dated reference, a change affecting a provision to which reference, the provision is recommended to be applied without taking into account this change. If the reference standard is cancelled without replacement, the position in which reference is made to him, recommended to be used in part not affecting this link.
3 the essence of the method
The method is to test specimens in tension at normal or elevated temperatures with a constant strain rate to failure, which determine: — the limit of the tensile strength; — modulus of elasticity in tension; — elongation at fracture; — Poisson’s ratio. |
4 Equipment
4.1 Micrometer according to GOST 6507 with a limit of permissible error of less than 1% of the measured value. Accuracy of measurements of the width of the specimen up to 0.025 mm, the sample thickness — to 0.0025 mm. 4.2 tensile testing Machine according to GOST 28840, providing tensile specimen with the speed of movement of the active capture from 0.0001 to 0.001 m/s (6 to 60 mm/min) and measuring the load with an error not exceeding 1% of the measured value. 4.3 the Grips of the testing machine, providing secure mounting and accurate centering of the sample (the longitudinal axis of the specimen should coincide with the direction of action of tensile load). For samples with circular cross-sections using threaded grips or grips with a split rim, for flat samples using wedge grips or grips with a side clamp, with serrated or knurled surface contact with the sample. 4.4 Instruments for measurement of deformations, providing a measurement of deformation with an error of less than 1% of the limit value of the measured value. 4.5 Thermocouple type R and GOST R 8.585 with a limit of permissible deviation ±2°C from the nominal temperature. |
5 Preparing for testing
5.1 For testing flat samples used samples in the form of blades, the shape and dimensions of which are shown in figure 1. |
