1. This standard applies to stationary hardness testers Brinell (TB type), Rockwell (type TP), Super-Rockwell (type TRS) and Vickers (type TV) designed for measuring hardness according to the methods set out in GOST 9012−59, 9013−59 GOST, GOST and GOST 22975−78 2999−75.
The standard fully conforms to the recommendations of ISO/R80−68, ISO/R81−67, ISO/Р79−68.

2. Hardness depending on the degree of automation of the operating cycle tests shall be divided into manual, mechanized and automatic.
3. Hardness depending on the type of display of the results should be divided into analog and digital readout device.

4. The hardness shall be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the present standard and technical conditions for the specific type of hardness in the working drawings, approved in the prescribed manner.
5. Basic parameters and limits of error of the loads of hardness in working condition shall be as specified in table. 1.

6. Limits of error of hardness testers in working condition when testing their exemplary measures hardness 2nd category according to GOST 9031−75 shall not exceed the values specified in table. 2−5.

7. The scale interval of a measuring device for measuring the diameter of the thumbprint hardness of the type of TB should be not more than 0.05 mm.
8. The scale of the measuring device of hardness testers of the type TR should be no more than 0.5 units of hardness, which corresponds to the displacement of the tip of 0,001 mm.
9. The scale of the measuring device of hardness testers of the type of TRS should not be more than 0.5 units of hardness, which corresponds to the displacement of the tip of 0.0005 mm.
10. The scale of the measuring device to measure the diagonal of the thumbprint hardness type of TV should not be more than 0.001 mm when measuring to 0.2 mm and 0.0025 mm when measuring more than 0.2 mm.
The scale of the measuring device in the hardness with loads of 9,807 and 19,610 N should not be more than 0.0005 mm.

11. The limits of permissible error of the measuring device of hardness testers TB type shall not exceed ±0.01 mm in one millimeter division of the scale and ±0.02 mm on all length scales.
12. The limits of permissible error of the measuring device of hardness testers of the type of TV should not exceed ±0.001 mm when measuring diagonals with a length of up to 0.2 mm inclusive and ±0.5% of measured value — the measurement of the diagonal length of more than 0.2 mm.
13. In hardness testers with digital readout device:
display of results should be done in a decimal code;
the number of bits of the digital display must be at least three;
unit price lowest level digital display shall not exceed the values specified in CL. 7−10;
the coded signal output of the hardness shall conform to the requirements of GOST 26.014−81.
13A. Automation requirements for hardness set in the technical specifications for the hardness of a particular type.

14. The hardness should be operable in the climatic conditions of performance of UHL category 4.2 according to GOST 15150−69.
15. For verification the error of measurement of hardness must be equipped with exemplary measures hardness 2nd category according to GOST 9031−75 in accordance with the specified in table. 6.

Notes. Universal and special hardness combinations of means of verification in accordance with the requirements of technical conditions on the hardness of a particular type, agreed and approved in established order.
16. The hardness should be equipped with flat or prismatic tables.
17. The hardness shall be accompanied by the passport and technical description and operating instructions according to GOST 2.601−68.
18. Hardness in a package for transportation must withstand:
transport shaking with acceleration of 30 m/swhen the frequency of strikes from 80 to 120 per minute or 15000 bumps;
temperatures from minus 60° to plus 50 °C;
the effect of relative humidity 95% at 35 °C.
19. Hardness after transportation and storage should be given in working condition, if required aligned loads and exemplary measures the hardness.
Requirements for reduction of hardness in working condition should be stated in the passport or in the technical description and operating instructions for the hardness of a particular type.

20. The average time to failure of the hardness must be not less than 25,000 hours; for hardness testers, equipped with computer equipment, mean time between failure shall be not less than 12500 hrs
Installed failure operating time of hardness should be not less than 3000 hours; for hardness testers, equipped with computer equipment, installed failure operating time shall be not less than 1000 hours.
21. Specified service life of the hardness must be not less than 3 years. Full average service life of the hardness must be not less than 10 years.

22. Warranty period — 18 months. from the date of entry of the hardness tester in operation.
23. Noise characteristics of hardness must not exceed the values specified in vhost 12.1.003−83 and must be given in the technical specifications for the hardness of a particular type.
