Introduction
Currently has accumulated a large Arsenal of methods and means of nondestructive testing of residual stresses in the machinery and the stress-strain state of industrial facilities in operation. However, still no reference samples, designed to objectively compare the effectiveness of these methods and means are not defined terms and their application. Most control methods of mechanical stresses is based on the calibration samples at stretch. It does not include the scale factor and the cyclical nature of the load that generates the actual voltage (working and residual) on real hardware. Some experts believe that only volumetric stresses determine reliability and their values must be measured and taken into account in the calculation of equipment and structures strength. Others believe that only the surface and local stresses are decisive, referring to the fact that lesions develop in local areas of stress concentration and the surface layer of the metal.
In these circumstances, the necessary document establishes a classification of nondestructive methods of stresses and conditions of their application based on modern achievements of materials science and mechanics of destruction, taking into account different levels of locality of control voltages.
This standard specifies the classification of methods of nondestructive testing of mechanical stresses, which was based on the interaction of physical fields, the method used with the test object.
1 Scope
This standard applies to engineering products, pipelines, vessels and structures for various purposes and their elements made of steel and alloys, cast iron and other structural materials without restriction sizes and thicknesses, including a welded joint of any design.
This standard specifies the classification of methods of nondestructive testing of mechanical stresses, which was based on the interaction of physical fields, the method used with the test object.

Note — When using this standard appropriate to test the effect of reference standards in the information system of General use — on the official website of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology on the Internet or published annually by the information sign «National standards» published as on January 1 of the current year and related information published monthly indexes published in the current year. If the reference standard is replaced (changed), when using this standard should be guided by replacing (amended) standard. If the reference standard is cancelled without replacement, then the situation in which the given link applies to the extent that does not affect this link.
3 Symbols and abbreviations
This standard applies to the symbols and abbreviations in accordance with GOST R 52330, GOST R 27.002, GOST 27.004, GOST 18353.
4 Requirements on classification methods
4.1 Methods of nondestructive testing of mechanical stresses on the active klassificeret — with the creation of the object material external physical fields of a predetermined orientation, and passive, which uses a proprietary physical field that displays the internal energy of the object material.
4.2 According to the type of physical fields used methods of nondestructive testing of stress is divided into types: electric, magnetic, electromagnetic, mechanical, thermal.
4.3 Methods of each form of nondestructive testing klassificeret by the following features:
according to the method of obtaining initial information and algorithm of when the measured parameter of the physical field with the declared parameter voltages;
according to the method of calibration method (calibration samples, functional-theoretical, empirical) and the range of controlled voltages;
— locality control;
— the speed control;
— requirements to the objects of control, providing guaranteed method the accuracy of the measured parameter of the stress-strain state of the material;
— the characteristics of reliability of the used when the measured parameter of the physical field with the declared parameter voltages;
— the units and range of measurement;
— the peculiarities and sequence of operations in the conduct and processing of measurement results.
4.4 allowed classification of methods for individual signs set out in 4.3.
4.5. In the name of the method must be present classification criteria set out in 4.2.
4.6 it is permitted to use the combined methods of one or more types of non-destructive testing, classified according to various criteria set out in 4.1−4.3.
4.7 Classification table for methods of nondestructive testing of mechanical stresses with the associated explanations are given in Appendix A.
