Alloy OT4

Designation

Name The value
Designation GOST Cyrillic ОТ4
Designation GOST Latin OT4
Transliteration OT4
The chemical elements SnTe4

Description

The OT4 alloy used: for the manufacture of semi-finished products (sheets, strips, foils, strips, plates, bars, rods, profiles, tubes, forgings and forged blanks) by the strain, and bars; parts, long operating at a temperature of 350−400 °C (at temperatures up to +350 °C for 2000 h and up to +300 °C 30 000 h); welding wire diameter: 1.0−7.0 mm.

Note

Titanium alloy with good corrosion resistance.
A pseudo-alloy OT4 refers to the system Ti-Al-MP, as the alloy OT4−1, but differs in the high content of aluminum. In this regard, it is stronger alloy OT4−1. This alloy has average strength. However, the alloy OT4 less plastic and technologically advanced than the alloy OT4−1. Alloy well deformed in a hot, sparingly in cold conditions.
The basic operations of sheet metal forming (drawing, bending, flanging) are carried out in cold condition. When stamping of complex configuration parts require heating.
The alloy has good thermal stability. Alloy is not thermally hardened, the only form of heat treatment which it is subject, is complete or incomplete (to remove residual stresses) annealing. Full annealing is carried out at 660−710 °C (sheet semifinished products and parts of them) and when 740−790 °C (bars, forgings, stamping, etc., and parts of them); incomplete annealing — when 545−585 °C.

According to GOST 19807-91 and OST 1 90013-81 the total content of other impurities is ≤ 0.30%. The mass fraction of hydrogen is indicated for ingots. The mass fraction of copper and nickel should not be more than 0.10% (in total), including nickel not more than 0.08%.
According to OST 1 90015-77, the chemical composition is given for an alloy of a welding wire with a reduced hydrogen content.
