Description
The alloy D16 is used: for the production of power subassemblies of aircraft, car bodies, pipes, operating at temperatures up to +230 °C; hot-pressed drill pipes with variable cross-sections; profiles with cross-sectional area of 200 cm2 and a diameter of circumcircle up to 350mm suitable for use in the aviation industry and special branches of engineering; round, rolled and drawn pipes for pipes transmission shafts and the linkage control planes; moulded panels of constant cross section with longitudinal fins in the aircraft industry, made sweep of extruded finned tubes in the plane of the width of the fabric up to 2100 mm; large extruded pipes.

ISO 209−1 D16 alloy is designated АlCuMg1 and 2024, alloy D16ch — 2124.

According to GOST 4784-97 the chemical composition is given for alloy D16. The total mass fraction of titanium + zirconium ≤ 0.20%, the mass fraction of each other impurity (not regulated) ≤ 0.05%, the total mass fraction of other impurities ≤ 0.15%. The chemical composition of the alloy D16h differs by the admittance of mass fractions of impurities: silicon ≤ 0.20%, iron ≤0.30%.
According to OST 1 90048-90 the chemical composition is given for alloy D16h. Mass fraction of each other impurity (not regulated) ≤ 0.05%, total mass fraction of other impurities ≤ 0.10%.
According to OST 1 92014-90 the chemical composition is given for alloy D16. Mass fraction of each other impurity (not regulated) ≤ 0.05%, total mass fraction of other impurities ≤ 0.10%.
