These grades have high corrosion resistance in a wide range of aggressive environments. As a result of heat treatment (heating to 1000 °C and rapid cooling in water or air) they acquire homogeneous austenite structure, good plasticity and high corrosion resistance.
03Cr18Ni12 and 03Cr19Ni11.
Particular corrosion resistance, in particular in concentrated nitric acid and high corrosion resistance of welds have austenitic steels with low carbon content 03Cr18Ni12 and 03Cr19N11. This steel is used for making a variety of chemical equipment that works in aggressive environments.
Steel alloyed with molybdenum
High corrosion resistance in organic acids (lactic, oxalic, acetic), differ chrome-nickel alloys with molybdenum additives 08Х17Н13М2Т, 10Х17Н13М2Т, 08Х18Н13М3Т, 08Х17Н15М3Т. High durability of these grades allows to reduce considerably time and expenses for service and repair. The percentage of molybdenum is indicated by the number after the letter M. However, such steels are not strong enough when heated up to 600−700°C. The presence of ferritic phase reduces their corrosion resistance to nitric acid of high concentrations. For parts that work in solutions of phosphoric acid, steel 03Х21Н21М4ГБ is used. It most often serves for the manufacture of welded equipment in the production of phosphate mineral fertilizers, which use phosphoric acid with traces of fluoride.
