Technological properties of P9 steel

Forging temperature
Beginning 1200, end 900. Cooling in the wells at 750−800 C.
Weldability
The weldability is good when electrically joined with steel 45 and 40X.
The machinability by cutting
At HB 205−255 Kυ dv.spl. = 0.8, Kυ b.st. = 0.6.
Grindability
reduced (GOST 19265−73).
