Alloy grade NP1A-ID on nickel base is melted in vacuum induction furnaces. It is produced in accordance with the following specifications: 48-0814-11/0-83; 14-3-1591-88; 48-0815-84-92; 48-0815-80-92. The composition contains pure nickel and up to 0.5% of impurities (iron, silicon, lead, manganese, copper, magnesium, sulfur, bismuth, carbon, arsenic, antimony, cadmium, tin, zinc, phosphorus). Relevance
Nickel was originally in demand only among jewelers, while in industry such a metal was unprofitable to use because of the expensive technology of obtaining and unavoidable impurities. Nowadays this nickel alloy is used in the production of chemical welded equipment operating in aggressive environments (hydrochloric, phosphoric, sulphuric acid solutions, acetic and hydrogen halide acids, etc.) at temperatures of -70 + 500 °C and pressures not exceeding 1.6 N/mm². This alloy is used for the synthesis of acetic acid from methanol and carbon oxide, ion exchange resins, polypropylene, chemical-pharmaceuticals and other organic synthesis products.
