Description
Alloy AL7 used: for the manufacture of shaped castings sredneshirotnykh parts, small in size; of casting parts, metallurgical engineering (parts of small size, bearing high static and shock loads).
Note
Aluminum foundry alloy system Al-Cu. Alloy AL7 in the hardened mortar type, and also at the expense of dispersed precipitates phase CuAl2. AL7 alloy has a high shrinkage (1.4 percent), prone to hot cracks and is therefore not recommended for casting in a metal mold.
Advantages: Satisfactory casting properties and good machinability.
Disadvantages: Low casting properties inhibit its use for complex and large workpieces. You should not use the alloy at temperatures above 200 °C.
