According to GOST 2685-75, the iron content is specified for casting in sand and shell molds and for investment models. The content of iron during casting in chill molds is ≤ 1.40%, when casting under pressure ≤ 1.50%. The amount of impurities accounted for should be for casting in sand and shell molds and for investment models ≤ 1.70%, casting in chill molds ≤ 1.90%, injection molding ≤ 2.10%. The alloy is not recommended for use in new designs.
