Bronze marking
Classification
Bronze alloys are divided into tin-free and tin-bronze. The main alloying components of tin bronzes are zinc, phosphorus and nickel. The content of zinc in the bronze is no more than 10%, while it does not change the properties of the alloy and makes it cheaper. Phosphorus and lead increase sliding properties and machinability. Alloys based on lead and tin with copper added are called babbitts. Babbitts have a significant cost, so they are often replaced with aluminum alloys.
Labeling
The marking is an alphanumeric index. The marking Br denotes bronze. The letters that follow indicate, in descending order, the content of the alloying elements, and the numbers correspond to their averaged amount in percentage.

Tin-free bronzes.
Some bronzes do not contain tin. These include double or multi-component copper alloys with aluminum, iron, manganese, lead, beryllium, silicon and nickel. Silicon bronzes (contain nickel, manganese) are characterized by high ductility and strength, good corrosion and mechanical properties. Aluminum bronzes are high-tech, have good mechanical properties, high ductility and density of castings, excellent resistance to corrosion in sea water. Lead bronzes have good thermal conductivity, high antifriction properties. Beryllium bronze has good weldability and corrosion resistance.
