Features of the technology
The entire technological process is a set of sequential activities on special equipment. The finished tape must fully comply with quality standards: shape accuracy, geometric size, surface condition. The general flowchart of the technological process includes preparation of the initial semi-finished product for rolling, pre-heating before pressure treatment, finishing of the rolled strip, rolling to produce the desired profile and quality control. Billet rolling
Billets are rolled between the rolls. During the crimping process, the thickness of the strip is reduced and its length and width are increased. The difference between the initial and final thickness is called absolute crimping. To carry out rolling, strip mills are used, called continuous mills, whose average roll diameter is 300 mm. Cold-rolling mills for stainless sheets with a thickness of 0.05 to 4 mm can also be used. For cold-rolling the thinnest strips, 4-roll, 12-roll, and 20-roll mills are used. There are also continuous 4- and 5-stand mills.
Use of
Especially popular are 12X18H10, 08X18H10 grades of chrome-nickel construction steel alloyed with titanium. Such alloys are heat-resistant, workable at temperatures up to 600 °C, characterized by high corrosion resistance. They are used for making welded containers operating under high pressure in the food industry. Tape 12X18N10T is usually produced soft, but after special treatment according to the technical specifications can be hardened.
