The results stated in the table are easy to check according to the following formula. Length of thread (in mm) = nDL rod/thickness of thread, where n = 3.1415926, D - diameter of rod (in mm). If, for example, it is necessary to determine at voltage 127 V the length of rod with diameter 4 mm, for winding of wire with thickness 0.3 mm. The table shows that the length of the rod at 220 V equals 22 mm. Making the usual ratio: 22mm - 220V; X - 127V, we see: X = 22x127/ 220 = 12.7mm. Accordingly, the fechral wire will be shortened. When winding the wire, it is necessary to connect it, without cutting it, to the voltage source, making sure that it is winded correctly. Closed spirals increase the winding length by 1/3 of the value given in the table.
