Description
A1 / A0 axle-steel specification review
The existing record distinguishes A1 material from A0 material by delivery condition: A0 may identify supply without heat treatment when required by agreement. Because A1 steel searches can also refer to unrelated tool-steel or local designations, provide the issuing standard, rolled or forged billet form, cross-section, condition, mechanical-test requirements, certificates and quantity.
A1 steel is used: for the manufacture of laminated and forged billet of square or circular cross-section designed for the production of axles of locomotives, electric trains, diesel and electric trains, wagons, railway and subway Railways.
Note
Non-alloy steel.
If the agreement requires the steel without heat treatment (rolling or forging), then used steel designation A0 instead of A1.
