Description
45Г17Ю3 steel is used: for the manufacture of sheet metal up to 60 mm inclusive, and bulb that are used in various steel structures and equipments in shipbuilding; of shapes and rolled sections; forgings and stampings; light duty hull structures of ships, vessels and marine equipment products (sheet and profile parts of hulls of surface ships, forgings welded into the hull, chains and chain devices, winches, spikes, axes, reels, bolts, nuts, pins, gears and worms for slow-moving mechanisms frames, casings, manhole covers, safety devices, doors, cable hangers, spools of posts of pre-emption (in the nitrided condition, ballasts, housings marine engines); parts of transformers.
Note
Low austenitic steel.
Magnetic permeability μ ≤ 1,01 GS/E. Cold pressure treatment and mechanical machining slightly changes the magnetic permeability of steel, but the significance of this characteristic after the manufacturing operations does not exceed of 1.01 GS/e, if cold deformation does not exceed 50%. The magnetic field of the products dramatically increased in the presence of dross, which is ferromagnetic. The slag must be completely removed.
Steel cannot be used for parts operating friction and parts operating in aggressive environments.

Weldability |
Welded satisfactorily to each other and with conventional ferromagnetic hull steels as well as corrosion-resistant steel type brand 12X18H9T manual welding with coated electrodes, automatic and semi-automatic submerged arc welding and semi-automatic welding a thin wire in carbon dioxide. Materials for welding: austenitic electrodes EA-606/11 - for manual welding of steel between himself and the steel 12X18H9T; the electrodes EA-48M/22 - for manual welding with steel like AK and other ferromagnetic steels; wire marks SV-08Г35Ю6М2 + flux 48-RP-11 - for automatic and semi-automatic welding of steel Yu3 each other and with steels of type AK and ferromagnetic steel. Heat treatment after welding is not recommended. |
Workability by cutting |
Turning, milling and planing are possible at reduced power compared with ordinary structural steels. Drilling, chiseling, and cutting internal and external threads of a conventional tool made with difficulty. |
