Company Eramet begins to run Nickel plant

Company Eramet, France launches its own Nickel plant after its modernization. The production Sandouville is located in the North-West of the country. Previously, the plant is engaged in processing of Nickel matte. The supply dealt exclusively in New Caledonia. However, the reconstruction changed the situation for the better. The new equipment will be displayed on planned capacity gradually. This process will continue throughout the second half of 2017. In 2018 the annual production volume will be about 13 thousand tons of cleaned Nickel. Also will produce Nickel-containing chemical products in the amount of 2.3 thousand tons. The amount of cobalt will reach 400 tons, and iron is 3 million tons.

Another project of the company will be a joint partner Eramet will be the manufacturer of stainless steel in China, Tsingshan Group. The aim of the project is the acquisition of a controlling stake in the deposits of Nickel Weda Bay. It is located on the island of Halmahera in Indonesia and is one of the largest in the world.
