Kr3 silicon is produced by reduction smelting of the quartzite in the electric arc furnace.

In silicon intended for the production of aluminum-silicon alloys, the mass fraction of aluminum is allowed up to 2.0% with a corresponding decrease in the mass fraction of silicon. In this case, the letter A: Kp3A is added to the designation of the brand of silicon. In silicon intended for the chemical industry, the mass fraction of titanium should not exceed 0.2% with a corresponding decrease in the mass fraction of silicon.
