Description

Bronze Bra5 used: for the manufacture of pipes; coins; parts operating in sea water; parts for chemical engineering.

Note

Bronze corrosion resistant, heat resistant, abrasion resistant. Well deformed in cold and hot condition.
Analog bronze Bra5 at CMEA 377−76 is bronze CuAl5.

Standards

Name Code Standards

Pipes from non-ferrous metals and alloys В64 TU 48-21-475-84

Chemical composition

Standard P Mn Si Fe Cu Al Zn Sn Pb
GOST 18175-78 ≤0.01 ≤0.5 ≤0.1 ≤0.5 The rest 4-6 ≤0.5 ≤0.1 ≤0.03
Cu is the basis.
According to GOST 18175-78, the total mass fraction of normalized impurities is ≤ 1.10%. In bronze, used in the production of condenser pipes, the mass fraction of arsenic is allowed up to 0.40%. As agreed by the manufacturer with the consumer, the content of impurities of arsenic and antimony can be normalized. The mass fraction of nickel is allowed up to 0.50% without taking it into account in the total amount of impurities.
