REPLACE GOST 8479−57
The re-release (Oct 1988) with Amendments No. 1, 2, 3, approved in March 1977, December 1982, Post. 5874 31.12.81, June 1986 (IUS 5−77, 3−82, 9−86).
This standard applies to forgings for General purpose diameter (thickness) up to 800 mm of structural carbon, low alloy and alloyed steel manufactured by forging and hot stamping.
The standard establishes the group of forgings and the main technical requirements for acceptance and delivery them.
The standard does not replace existing standards and technical conditions for separate types of forgings, which meet specific requirements regarding production method, the surface quality, the use of special heat treatments, etc.
1. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1. Forgings shall be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard according to the drawings approved in the prescribed manner, and normative-technical documentation for specific products. Forging the types of tests are divided into the groups listed in the table. 1.
(Changed edition, Rev. No. 3).
1.2. The classification of forgings to one group or another is made by the consumer, the group number specified in the specifications on the detail drawing.
1.3. At the request of the consumer, the delivery of the forgings should be performed with additional types of tests not provided for this standard (check for flocs, the trial by Bauman, ultrasound and periscope control, determination of residual stresses, yield strength at operating temperatures, the determination of fracture toughness at operating temperatures and negative, macro — and microanalysis of structure steel, alloy bends, determination of grain size, etc.). In this case, the forgings also belong to one of the groups: II, III, IV and V in accordance with table. 1.
The type, scope, rules and methods for additional testing are indicated in the drawing, forging or order.
Note. A group of quality forgings for ultrasonic control is adjusted in accordance with GOST 24507−80.
(Changed edition, Rev. No. 1, 3).
