* Determined by difference. Notes 1 Mass fraction of impurities should not be more than: chlorine is 0,005% for grades Mg80, Mg90, Mg95, potassium — 0,004% for the brand Mg95, sodium — 0,004% for the brand Mg95. 2 Magnesium Mg90 brand by the consumer is produced with a mass fraction of titanium is not more than 0,002%. 3 In agreement with the consumer brand magnesium Mg95 is produced with a mass fraction of manganese, not more than 0,004% when the mass fraction of sodium is not more than 0.01% and the sum of the mass fraction of iron, Nickel and copper not more than 0.007%. 4 At the request of the consumer brand magnesium Mg95 made with mass fractions of Nickel, not more than 0,0007% aluminum and not more than 0,006%. |
The table shows the maximum permissible mass fraction of impurities to magnesium brands Mg80, Mg90, Mg95 and recommended for of magnesium a special purpose — brand Mg98.
2.2 Magnesium is produced in the form of ingots with a mass of (8,0±1,0) kg, allowed the production of magnesium ingots weighing from (2,0±0,3) kg to (22,0±2,0) kg.
Pig designed for long-term storage, and on demand of the consumer is subjected to anticorrosive treatment with a solution of potassium dichromate. The surface is treated in a solution of soda ash, followed by rinsing in water.
Surface pigs intended for export, is subjected to anti-corrosion treatment in accordance with the requirements of the consumer.
2.3 the surface of the ingots must be free of flux inclusions and products of burning magnesium. On the surface of the ingots not subjected to anticorrosion treatment, in agreement with the consumer allowed flux inclusions and products of combustion with a total area of not more than 25 mmand a depth of not more than 1 mm.
Allowed the bare places and the presence of oxide tints.
Terms of surface defects and their definitions are given in Appendix A.
2.4 Marking
Each pig must be of the following designations:
trademark or name of the manufacturer;
brand of magnesium;
the melting number.
2.5 Packaging
2.5.1 Pig transporterowych in the packaged form. Preparation of cargo for transportation — according to GOST 26653. The formation of packages according to GOST 21399. The packet — no more than 700х700 or 700х1400 mm weight 1500 kg. Packs fasten aluminum catalkoy according to GOST 13843, or a steel packing band according to GOST 3560.
Allowed to use other means of packaging, ensuring the formation of packages in accordance with the requirements of GOST 21399 or contractual documents between the manufacturer and the consumer, consistent with the transport organizations.
Transporting pigs is also possible in universal containers according to GOST 18477 and also unpacked the car transport customer.
2.5.2 Pig of magnesium, designed for long-term storage, are Packed in steel drums with a capacity of 250 DMon the other 48−10−98* gross weight (275±25) kg or other containers, providing safety of magnesium and stipulated in the contract between the consumer and the manufacturer.
________________
* The one mentioned here and below are author’s development. For additional information, please refer to the link. — Note the manufacturer’s database.
By agreement with consumer it is allowed manufacture of the barrels with no lugs and tubes.
On each barrel with a stencil must be specified:
trademark or name of the manufacturer;
brand of magnesium;
the melting number and batch number;
the net weight of the products;
the date of manufacture;
the designation of this standard.
2.5.3 magnesium Ingots, intended for export are Packed in wooden crates manufactured in accordance with TU 48−10−7. The gross mass of the box should be (390±15) kg or (495±15) kg. are allowed to be Packed in steel drums according to TU 48−10−98 or in accordance with the terms of the contracts.
3. ACCEPTANCE
3 Acceptance
3.1 Ingots of magnesium taking parties. The party should consist of magnesium of the same brand, one or more heats and be accompanied by a document about quality that contains:
trademark or name of the manufacturer;
the name of product, brand of magnesium;
the lot number and the numbers of heats;
the weight of the party;
the results of chemical analysis (for bottoms);
the designation of this standard;
the date of manufacture;
stamp of technical control Department.
3.2 For control surface select 1% of pigs from the party, but not less than 10 pieces.
3.3 To determine the chemical composition of magnesium from each heat included in the party, select three pig.
Mass fraction of iron, silicon, Nickel, copper, aluminum, zinc and manganese determined in each cast. Any other impurity — in every thirtieth melting. The amount of impurity determined by addition of a mass fraction of impurities in%. At the customer’s request mass fraction of sodium and titanium is determined in each cast and indicate in the document about quality.
For the determination of chemical composition the manufacturer is allowed to take samples from molten metal.
Magnesium intended for long-term storage, as well as at the customer’s request mass fraction of chlorine determined in each cast and indicate in the document about quality.
3.4 To control weight pigs weighed three ingots from each batch.
The weight of the batch is determined as the sum of the masses of all packages of the party.
3.5 If unsatisfactory test results of at least one indicator thereon, a second test doubled the number of pigs taken from the same melting or party. The results of repeated tests apply to the entire smelting or shipment.
4. TEST METHODS
4 test Methods
4.1 Selection and preparation of samples for determining the chemical composition of the ingots of magnesium — according to GOST 24231. Method of sampling for chemical analysis — drilling. The mass of spot samples — not less than 10 g. the mass of the laboratory sample was at least 50 g.
4.2 determination of the chemical composition of magnesium — 851.1 GOST — GOST 851.13.
Allowed to use other methods of equal accuracy specified in the standards.
The differences in the assessment of the quality chemical composition of magnesium should be determined according to GOST 851.1 — GOST 851.13.
Rounding the results of the analysis of the chemical composition produce to the last decimal place that is specified in table 1 of this standard.
4.3 Control pigs and weight of each package of party produced by weighing with an accuracy better than 1%.
4.4 quality Check of the surface is carried out by visual inspection without the use of magnifying devices. The measurement of the flux of particles, and combustion products carry out the standard measurement tool that provides measurement error not more than ±0,1 mm.
