6. (Deleted, Rev. N 1).

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2).

2.2.The alloys are made in the form of ingots with a mass of (8,0±1,0) kg Form and size of ingots are installed by the manufacturer. In coordination with the manufacturer is allowed to produce the alloys in form of ingots of the other mass.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

2.3. On the surface of ingots shall not be flux inclusions and products of combustion of the alloy.

The terms for surface defects and their definitions are given in the Appendix.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).

2.4. The surface of ingots shall be subjected to anticorrosive treatment by chromating.

Pigs intended for export, and by agreement with the consumer are additionally coated with a protective grease and wrapped in waxed paper.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2).

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES

3.1. Magnesium alloys take parties. The party should consist of an alloy of one brand, one or more trunks and decorated with a single document about quality that contains:

trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;

grade;

batch number;

the weight of the batch (for bottoms), kg;

the results of the analysis of heats according to content of the main components (the content of impurities is specified by the consumer);

stamp of technical control Department;

the date of manufacture;

the designation of this standard.

The weight of the batch is determined by summing the masses of the bottoms belonging to the party.

3.2. To check the chemical composition of the alloy from each heat included in the party, select three pig. On the manufacturer is allowed to make sampling from liquid metal.

Control of impurities in beryllium, zirconium and chlorine is carried out periodically once a quarter.

3.1; 3.2. (Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2).

3.3. To check weight pigs three pig taken from every fifth heat. From lots containing less than five heats, three pig be taken away from any heat.

To determine the batch weight weigh every melting.

3.4. Quality control of the surface subjected to 10% of pigs from melting.

At the customer’s request quality control of the surface subjected to each pig.

3.5. If unsatisfactory results at least one of the indicators, repeat tests are carried out on this indicator at twice the sample taken from the same heat.

The results of repeat tests shall apply to the entire melt.

3.4, 3.5. (Changed edition, Rev. N 2).

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. Selection and preparation of samples for chemical analysis according to GOST 24231−80. Method of sampling for chemical analysis — drilling using a drill with a diameter of 15 mm. Mass of spot samples — not less than 15 g. the mass of the laboratory sample was at least 150 g.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).

4.2. Chemical composition of alloys determined according to GOST 3240.0−76 — GOST 3240.21−76 and GOST 7728−79.

Allowed to apply other methods of analysis, accuracy is not inferior to the standard.

The chemical composition of the alloys in the event of a dispute is determined only according to GOST 3240.0−76 — GOST 3240.21−76.

Calculation of results is rounded to the last character specified in the table.1.

4.3. The control mass is conducted by weighing with an uncertainty of less than 1% in the scale, the measurement accuracy of which does not exceed 0.1% of the rated load.

4.4. The surface quality of ingots checked by visual inspection without the use of magnifying devices.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

5. MARKING, PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

5.1. Each pig shall bear an alpha-numeric or color-coding grade alloy and the melting number. Alphanumeric marking is a marking, color — in the form of colored bands, applied with indelible paint at one end of the pig in accordance with the table.2.
