NLMK completes the replacement of electrostatic precipitators

At the Novolipetsk metallurgical plant began the last stage of replacement of the electric precipitators. The project involves the installation of new equipment for kiln refractory plant. Also a reconstruction of the last furnace made in the schedule. This was made known rotating stop-firing unit No. 3. The project implementation will allow to increase the level of treatment deriving gas furnaces up to 99%. In the residual dust concentration will be reduced three times. In the end, is expected to improve the environmental situation in the sanitary protection sector of the plant. The performance of the gas cleaning plant is 150 thousand m3/hour. It will be equipped with new electrostatic precipitators with high efficiency. Captured by the filter dust will be used in the technological process as the raw material. Hot tests will be conducted on the unit No. 3 at the end of this year. Project completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017.

The project will reduce the release of dust in the refractory shop at 18%.

Today in the shop implemented several significant projects. They will improve the cleaning quality from dust particles in the air. In July started hot tests of aspiration systems. In operation in a zone of unloading and moving bulk materials introduced thirteen devices. The project will provide a reduction in dust emissions at the site by 13%. The new gas unit installed instead of the obsolete equipment. In General, the performance of highly efficient filters modular type reaches more than 300 thousand m3/hour. The cost of the project reaches about 230 million RUB. Presumably the project will be completed in the third quarter of this year.
