Description

20KH23N18 steel is used: for the manufacture of forgings, tires for operation at 650−700 °C; details of combustion chambers, clamps, suspension and other details of fixing boilers, muffles for operation at temperatures up to +1100 °C; seamless pipes; pipes and fittings installations of methane conversion and pyrolysis; various heat resistant parts aerospace; repair welded joints of equipment in radioactive environments; solid-rolled rings for different purposes.

Note

Heat-resistant steel and heat resistant austenitic class.
The recommended maximum operating temperature for a long time +1000 °C.
Temperature intense scaling in air +1050 °C.
In the temperature range 600−800 °C is prone to embrittlement due to the formation of σ-phase.

Technological properties

Name The value
Weldability limited weldability. For repair of welded joints of equipment, working in radioactive environments, we recommend the use of manual TIG welding with non-consumable electrode (filler or without filler material) and manual arc welding with coated electrodes.
Forging temperature Beginning - 1220 °C, the end of - 900 °C. the cross Sections up to 350 mm cooled in air.
Workability by cutting In the normalized and tempered condition when HB 178 and blower SB=610 MPa Kn b.St.=0.4
Features of heat treatment Steel products, designed for operation in conditions of increased requirements for heat resistance and heat resistance, are subjected to quenching in water or air at 1100-1150 °C. the holding Time at the heating for hardening to products with a wall thickness up to 10 mm - 30 min, over 10 mm - 20 min + 1 min per 1 mm maximum thickness.
