Description

Alloy KH23JU5 used: for the manufacture of wire and strip for industrial and laboratory furnaces, appliances and apparatus, rheostats, and glow plugs; resistive elements; electric heating devices; resistance elements.

Note

The heat resisting alloy in an oxidizing atmosphere containing sulfur and sulfur compounds, working with high-alumina ceramics; prone to sagging at elevated temperatures, can not withstand sudden dynamic loads.

Fe is the basis.
According to GOST 10994-74 the chemical composition is presented for the alloy X23S5. In accordance with GOST 10994-74, the content of calcium and cerium is calculated. When smelting an alloy intended for the production of heating elements, fresh charge materials should be used. Waste of own marks may be used.
According to GOST 12766-67, the chemical composition is given for the alloy grade X23Y5. The presence in the alloy of residual rare-earth elements, as well as barium and calcium, is not a defective feature.
