This standard specifies the General requirements for overpacks non-ferrous metals (aluminum ingots GOST 11070, zinc GOST 3640, lead according to GOST 3778, alloys of lead-based GOST 1292, alloys, copper-based GOST 614, tin bronze according to GOST 614, of brass according to GOST 1020, copper cathodes GOST 546, copper ingots according to GOST 193, the cathode of Nickel GOST 849, ingots of antimony GOST 1089, aluminum foundry alloys in ingots with a mass of 15 kg according to GOST 1583, silumin according to GOST 1583, primary magnesium ingots according to GOST 804, magnesium ingots according to GOST 2581).

1. THE PACKAGE REQUIREMENTS

1.1 Package needs to provide:

— safety of goods during transportation, warehousing and storage;

— stability of shape and dimensions during transportation and loading-unloading works;

— the possibility of mechanized loading and unloading, handling and storage operations;

— maximum use of capacity of vehicles;

— the formation of stable stacks.

1.2. Batches of pigs, cathodes and ingots of non-ferrous metals are set by standards for the corresponding non-ferrous metal.

1.3. The mass of packages of non-ferrous metals when loading the containers, and boxcars must not exceed 1500 kg.

1.4. Transport marking shall conform to the requirements of GOST 14192.

1.8. During long-term storage of pigs and ingots in packages of two ingots or two bars of the top row of each package shall be marked indelibly marked to show the trademark of the manufacturer, grade of steel, number of pigs (ingots) in packages, weight of package, gross and net in kg.

During long-term storage of the cathodes in batches on the top of the cathode sheet of each package shall be marked indelibly marked to show the trademark of the manufacturer, the metal type, batch number, weight of package, gross and net in kg.

1.9. Packages intended for transportation by water transport shall be labeled according to GOST 14192.

2. PACKAGE

2.1. Package building should be done at the factory, the dismantling — in the company — consumer products.

2.2. Packages ingots of zinc and lead must be tied with belts and steel packing tape according to GOST 3560, strained and stapled to the castle. Allowed to use tape graveyard 6009 and GOST 503.

The free end of the strip in the belt is cut at an angle of 90°. The length of the free end after cutting must not exceed 50 mm.

Batching of pigs of zinc may be applied pallet pig.

2.3. Packages from ingots of aluminium and its alloys must be bound with aluminum catalkoy diameter not less than 9 mm according to GOST 13843.

In forming the package the pipework package should be placed on the side of the package.

2.4. Packages from the cathodes of Nickel and copper must be bound with a steel wire of diameter not less than 6 mm according to GOST 3282 or steel packing tape according to GOST 3560.

The cathodes are allowed to pack the fastening strips, cut from the same cathode, passed through the through holes in each cathode.

Allowed the coupler Nickel packages steel bars with a diameter of 10−14 mm, the ends of which must be bent around the edges of the top and bottom plates angle of at least 180°.

2.5. The number of packaging bands, wire, or rod, and the cross section of the packing tape should provide reliability of fastening of cargo in bags for transportation and multiple cargo handling in all climate conditions.

2.6. Material fastening means packaging must not change the product.

2.7. Recommended layings and bonds ingots of aluminium, zinc, lead, antimony, copper ingots, Nickel cathodes and copper cathodes in the packages given in the Appendix (DWG.1−12).

2.8. When discharging at sea and river ports is allowed to form in the blocks using a flat pallets according to GOST 9078 or special gripping devices.

2.9. During transportation of the packages of non-ferrous metals air transport method of bonding packages must be agreed with the civil aviation authorities.

3. TRANSPORT PACKS OF NON-FERROUS METALS

3.1 non-ferrous metals in packages transport:

— by rail — in boxcars;

— water transport in the holds of sea and river vessels;

— by road — side cars, trailers, semi-trailers;

— air transport — cargo aircraft and helicopters on pallets and wooden decks;

in universal and specialized containers — all kinds of transport.

Packages non-ferrous metals is allowed to be transported on open railway rolling stock and on the upper deck of the ship only by agreement of the parties.

Transport packs of non-ferrous metals is carried out by road, rail, waterway and Maritime transport in accordance with shipping rules applicable on the transportation of the species.

3.2. Placement and mounting of the packages on vehicles should provide the possibility of loading and unloading mechanization.

3.3. Loading (unloading) of packages on the vehicle should be mechanized with the help of loading and unloading mechanisms to ensure the safety package, cargo and vehicles.

Maximum static load acting on the floor of the car from wheel loader with a load, shall be not more than 17 kN (1,8 TC); dynamic load of 21 kN (2,2 cu).

During the loading of packages of nonferrous metals weighing more than 1 ton on the floor covered wagons should be laid metal sheets with a thickness of 3−4 mm.

3.5. Methods of placement and fastening of packages in vehicles and containers should exclude the movement of goods in the transportation process and voltage packages on the door.

During transport packages must be made in the attachment of the packages (in the form of wood strips, hard bars, etc.), excluding damage the floor, walls and doors in the way.

3.6. When transporting by railway the placement and securing of the packages produced in accordance with the technical conditions of loading and fastening of cargoes, approved by the Ministry of Railways of the USSR.

3.7. To ensure the mechanical handling of packages of the cathode sheets in covered wagons and containers and unloading of them, each package must be installed on two previously installed lining section of at least 50x50 mm, a length of lining shall be not less than 0.75 of the width of the cathode and must not protrude beyond the dimensions of the package and a length of from 800 to 900 mm. the Lining shall be installed along the direction of movement of the truck.

Allowed tying packages with wire along with padded.

Linings and pads shall be made of lumber not below the third grade according to GOST 8486 or GOST 2695.

3.8. The total weight of the packages must not exceed vehicle capacity.

4. STORAGE OF NON-FERROUS METALS IN PACKAGES

4.1. Storage of non-ferrous metals in packages must be in accordance with the technical documentation, duly approved.

4.2. Placement of stacks in the warehouse and packages in the pile must ensure that:

— the stability of the packages in the stack;

— maximum use of warehouse space;

— easy and safe manoeuvring of loading and unloading mechanisms intended to perform storage, loading and unloading works;

— free access to storage for transaction records;

— observance of fire prevention rules and regulations.

4.3. For stability and alignment of packages during storage between them, you should install the gasket.

5. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

5.1. During loading, transportation and installation of packages in warehouses and vehicles are not allowed strikes of the package, loss, displacement pigs (sheets) and ranks, warps and deformation of pigs (sheets) and package.

5.2. Place packet capture specific types of non-ferrous metals when performing loading and unloading operations shall be established by technical documentation on the packages of these metals, duly approved. Performing loading and unloading operations are not allowed to capture packets for holding the packing means.

5.3. For loading and unloading, warehouse work and transportation non-ferrous metals should be performed in accordance with the requirements of GOST 12.0.001, GOST 12.3.002, GOST 12.3.009 and regulations on safety for these works with the relevant categories of goods.

5.7. Trucks used for handling nonferrous metals must comply with the safety requirements according to GOST 18962.
