This standard applies to hot-rolled bars and forgings (forged rods, cylinders, plates, parallelepipeds) of alloy grade M-MP, intended for further mechanical processing.
The letters in the name of the alloy means:
M is molybdenum;
MP — material powder.

1. ASSORTMENT
1.1. Hot rods are made with a diameter of 14.5 mm to 40 mm, forged rods, from 30 to 60 mm forging with diameter or side of the rectangle from 30 to 300 mm.
At customer’s request bars with a diameter of 30 mm and forgings manufactured with a machined surface.
The sizes of rods and forgings and limit deviations thereon shall be as specified in table.1.

Note. The weight of the forgings should not be more than 50 kg, the mass of bars — more than 15 kg.
1.2. The bars are made of random length hot rolled from 150 to 1500 mm, forged from 100 to 300 mm.
In coordination with the consumer bars are made of standard length within off-gage. Tolerances for length shall not exceed for hot-rolled bars of 30 mm, forged bars +15 mm.
Rods and forgings size and weight not listed in table.1, are made by agreement between manufacturer and consumer.

1.3. The dimensions of the forgings according to the diameter or side of the rectangle are set with an interval of 5 mm to 100 mm and with an interval of 10 mm over 100 mm.
1.4. The roundness of bars should not exceed the limit deviation for diameter.
1.5. The curvature of the hot rolled bars shall not exceed 1 mm per 100 mm length.
Example of designation of the rod is forged from alloy grade M-MP diameter 30.0 mm, length 600 mm, planed:

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Bars and forgings of alloy grade M-MP must meet the requirements of this standard and technical documentation approved in the established order.

2.1. Molybdenum powder for production of bars, rods and forgings shall have the following chemical composition, %, max: iron — 0,014; aluminum — 0,005; Nickel — 0,005; silicon — 0,005; magnesium 0,003; sodium — 0,015; potassium — 0,05; calcium 0,007; tungsten — 0.4; oxygen and moisture is 0.3; molybdenum — the rest.
The particle size of the powder should not be more than 0.005 mm for 92% of powder by weight.
Allowed as source material to use molybdenum rods, chemical composition of which satisfies the requirements of molybdenum powder.
Chemical composition of finished products is provided by the manufacturer are not below the norms established for the original powder.

2.2. Bars and forgings in accordance with the order made in the annealed or without annealing with a surface cleansed of oxides or machined.
2.3. On the surface of hot-rolled and forged bars and forgings should be no cracks, sunsets, sekulow and captured.
Remove defects gentle sweep or Stripping. The depth of Stripping or not Stripping should show the bars and forgings beyond the minimum size.
Allowed grid swing, which is a surface tears resulting from oxidation of grain boundaries during high temperature deformation, provided that the depth of the tears does not display bars and forgings beyond the minimum size.
2.4. On the surface of the machined bars and forgings defects are not allowed, except for certain minor defects in depth not more than half of the maximum deviations on the size of the section counting from the actual.

1. The number and nature of defects it is allowed to clarify by agreement of the parties.
2. At customer’s request, surface quality check by the luminescence method. In this case, the rejection characteristics are established by agreement of the parties.

2.4. Oxidation of the surface of bars and forgings during transportation and storage acceptance sign is not.
2.4 b. For bars and forgings mechanical raw allowed the round ends. Length measuring rods excluding fillets must not exceed the nominal dimensions.

2.6. In the hot-rolled bars with a diameter of 30 mm and less is not allowed the structure of the full recrystallization.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3.1. Bars and forgings are bringing to the receipt batches or parts of batches. The party must consist of bars or forgings of the same size cross section, of one technological mode and one lot of molybdenum powder or molybdenum shtabikov.
The weight of the batch shall not exceed 1500 kg.
The party was escorted by a quality document in accordance with the requirements of GOST 7566* with the following addition:
«The chemical composition of the powder point according to the manufacturer of the powder."

3.2. The quality of bars and forgings test:
the size and surface condition on 100% of bars and forgings;
mechanical properties — at one rod from the party;
the microstructure, two of the bars from the party.

3.3. If unsatisfactory test results in the microstructure or mechanical properties of the repeat tests are carried out for the metric that you have received unsatisfactory results in twice the number of samples selected from the new bars. Upon receipt of unsatisfactory results, re-testing the whole batch is subjected to 100-percent control for the metric that you have received poor results. The results of the 100% control are final.
3.4. By agreement between manufacturer and consumer bars supply without determining the mechanical properties. The manufacturer guarantees the mechanical properties specified in the standard.

4. TEST METHODS
4.1. The diameter and shape of bars to check a caliper according to GOST 166, micrometer according to GOST 6507, brackets according to GOST 2216 or other measuring tools that provide required accuracy, in two mutually perpendicular directions in at least three places.
The length of the rods check metal ruler according to GOST 427.
4.2. The surface quality check by inspection without the use of magnifying devices.
The depth of the mesh define a standard height measuring instrument, after controlling for the sharpening of defective parts without the use of magnifying devices.

4.3. The surface quality of machined bars and forgings test method for fluorescent recommended methodology is given in Appendix 1.
4.4. To determine the mechanical properties of the selected two samples, one sample from the ends of the rod in accordance with the requirements of GOST 7564*.

4.5. Tensile tests carried out according to GOST 1497 on short samples.

4.6. Microstructure control on 4 specimens cut from both ends of the rods along the direction of deformation through the center of the rod. The prepared micro-sections etched and examined under a microscope at a magnification of 90 to 100. Recommended solution and etched micro-sections are given in Appendix 2.
If necessary, pictures or samples are unacceptable microstructure set by agreement of the parties.

5. MARKING, PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
5.1. Hot rods are Packed in bundles. Each pack is wrapped in paper according to GOST 8273, GOST 9569*, GOST 8828 or other scientific-technical documents (NTD) and a polyethylene film according to GOST 10354 or other NTD or placed in polyethylene bags according to GOST 17811 or other NTD. The mass of a pack should not exceed 60 kg.

5.1.1. Each bundle of bars labeled indicating:
grade alloy;
batch number;
mass packs;
size of bars;
hallmarks or signatures of the worker of the technical control.
Forged rods and forged mark the batch number stamp or indelible ink.

5.1.2. Bars and forgings are Packed in boxes in the NTD, developed on the basis of GOST 2991 (type III). Packaging should exclude the free movement of bars and forgings inside the box. Gross mass must not exceed 70 kg.
5.1.3. On each box labeled as containing:
grade;
batch number;
the size of bars or forgings;
the net mass;
the mark or sign of the worker of the technical control.
May be applied on boxes labels:
«Caution, fragile», «Afraid of dampness».
5.1.4. Transport marking under GOST 14192* with application of manipulation signs: «Caution, fragile», «Afraid of dampness».

5.2. Bars and forgings are stored in heated, enclosed spaces.

5.3. Transportation of produce all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with the rules of carriage valid for this mode of transport. General requirements for transport according to the GOST 7566.

6. MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY
The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of bars and forgings the requirements of this standard when complying with the storage conditions.
Warranty period of storage — 3 years from date of manufacture.

Annex 1 (recommended). THE TECHNIQUE OF FLUORESCENT CONTROL SURFACE MACHINED BARS AND FORGINGS OF ALLOY GRADE M-MP
Annex 1
Recommended
1. General provisions
1.1. Fluorescent inspection method used to detect surface defects.
1.2. Fluorescent penetrant inspection method is based on the phenomenon of capillary penetration into cracks, pores and other surface defects liquids with a high wetting properties and is able to glow when irradiated with ultraviolet light.
1.3. Using the luminescence method reveals surface cracks, pores and other defects with a width of at least 0.01 mm and a depth of not less than 0.02 mm.
2. Used materials and equipment
2.1. As a source of ultraviolet radiation is used mercury-quartz lamp PRK types, SVD or SWDS with the use of filters brands UFS-3, UFS-4, UFS-6.
2.2. To prepare luminescense liquid, we recommend the following compositions:
a) transformer oil according to GOST 982 — two parts,
kerosene lighting according to normative-technical documentation — one part,
the B-70 gasoline according to GOST 1012 — the one part;
b) defectal green-gold 0.25 g/l,
gasoline B-70 — one piece
kerosene lighting — one piece
vaseline oil GOST 3164 or transformer according to GOST 982 — one part.

2.3. As the adsorbing substance used dry powders of magnesium oxide according to GOST 4526 or silica gel brand or iscd GRADE according to GOST 3956.

2.4. The powder of magnesium oxide (or silica) must be sifted through the mesh No. 45 according to GOST 6613, dried at 105±5 °C for 3 hours and should be stored in an airtight container.

2.5. Sawdust should be dried at 105±5 °C for 2−3 h and sieved so that they were not fine dust. If the sawdust glow under ultraviolet irradiation, they must be replaced.
2.6. In the room where a luminous control needs to be ventilated.
2.7. The extent of contamination of the luminescent fluid should be replaced. The quality of the fluid is determined by the degree of vydelennoi artificial defect in the form of a slot or a natural defect in the form of cracks in a specially selected standard.
Check luminescense fluid is carried out not less than half a month of work.
2.8. Control components in the ultraviolet light should be carried out in a darkened cabin.
3. Conducting fluorescent control
3.1. Rods and blanks should be subjected to fluorescent control no later than 72 hours after machining. Machined bars and billets it is forbidden to take without cotton gloves.
3.2. Controlled surface degreased with gasoline B-70, and then pulling the rod or billet in the bath with luminescense liquid for 15−20 minutes.
3.3. Excess fluid is removed from the surface with a strong jet of water, wipe the surface with sawdust and clean hair brush or blown with compressed air. Degreasing and further processing to produce rubber gloves.
3.4. Viewing under ultraviolet irradiation. If the surface of the rod or billet is lit, you must re-wipe it down with sawdust.
3.5. Powder rod or billet adsorbent powder; the excess powder is removed by tapping on a wooden object.
3.6. After 8−10 minutes after dusting rod or preparation examine under ultraviolet light (in a darkened cabin) not more than 15 min by: shining clearly visible lines, dots or spots are judged on the presence of defects. The boundaries of the defects noted on the surface with colored pencil. After the control is removed from the surface of the adsorbent powder, wiping it with a dry cloth.
3.7. Characteristic defects:
a) the crack — clearly visible, brightly illuminated a winding strip (line);
b) time — scattered points of light (under normal lighting conditions represent a gray dot, not larger than 1.5 mm).
Appendix 2 (recommended). SOLUTION AND ETCHED MICRO-SECTIONS
Annex 2
Recommended
For etching using the solution of the following composition:
Koh or NaOH — 20 g;
KFe (SP)(red blood salt) — 20 g;
HO — 200 ml.
The etching time to 1 min. If the cone is covered with the oxide film, then it is removed on a damp cloth.
After etching, the cone is washed in water and ethanol and dried.
